"Cute, funny, charming, crazy events, and a sassy zany gun toting old lady. Yep, that's a Janet Ivanovich book. They books are predictable and consistent, but sometimes faithful and reliable is just what you want. I love Janet Ivanovich books when I am feeling blue or overwhelmed with life. "

“C. J. Critt’s performance is top-notch with rapid-fire repartee and sizzling sexual tension. She mixes characters, mishaps, misunderstandings, wisecracks, and romance into a well-paced mystery, which culminates in a wedding and a perfectly blended family.”
— AudioFile" not her best, but an easy read for a little entertainment. I like the Stephanie Plum ones better. "
— Kim, 2/11/2014" it was okay. audiobook was irritating, she made the protagonist sound whiney "
— Lyndsay, 2/6/2014" This book probably deserves more than two stars. It is a really good and clean mystery/romance. Not violent or sexy but what happened with this book is predictable. I read one of her books and loved it! Read another style of hers and loved it. This book was a mixture of the two. If this is the only book by her that you read, you will love it. If you have read others, you will see what happens with most authors. You love their humor and style and so does everyone else. They know what sells and do the almost exact same things again. Good book. Good beach read but I probably won't read anymore of hers for awhile. By the way, the setting is Northern Virginia DC area and that is always fun to read something that is familiar. "
— Chelsey, 1/26/2014" So I bought this book for 10 cents and it was awesome. Not a lot of deep reading, but I laughed so hard my husband was starting to wonder what was happening. Some of the funniest reading I've come across. "
— Connie, 1/24/2014" Good enough, a little choppy in places. But typical Evanovich style. "
— Ashley, 1/20/2014" I can always count on Janet to give me a fun, uplifting, romantic comedy in between more intense books that I read. This was very enjoyable and a quick, fun read. "
— Pam, 1/17/2014" 'm generally not a fan of pre-Plum Evanovich but I rather enjoyed this romance a lot thanks to the loveable leads and all the laughs. "
— Muriel, 1/17/2014" Cute story about a Cello player and a lottery winner in the DC area. "
— Erica, 1/16/2014" Love Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series and wanted to read one that was written before. Easy to see how the Plum series came about. A quick one day read. "
— Sue, 1/13/2014" very cute and fun like all the rest! "
— Mel, 1/7/2014" Cute, funny, charming, crazy events, and a sassy zany gun toting old lady. Yep, that's a Janet Ivanovich book. They books are predictable and consistent, but sometimes faithful and reliable is just what you want. I love Janet Ivanovich books when I am feeling blue or overwhelmed with life. "
— VLynch, 12/21/2013" Ho...hum...I figured I'd give this author one more shot but apparently, I just don't like how she writes! The stories sound interesting enough but once I start reading the interest flees! The characters are a bit too quirky for my taste. 1.5 stars. "
— Mei, 12/15/2013" Not as good as the Stephanie Plum series of books, but ok. "
— Jeans77, 12/12/2013" Good dialog, but too predictably romantic and sappy for my taste. Definitely not in the same league with the Stephanie Plum books. "
— Patti, 12/6/2013" A cute I have nothing better to read book. "
— Jeanne, 11/8/2013" It was cute. Nothing special, really similar to her other stuff (writing wise). I liked the romance series she wrote with Charlotte Hughes way better. But if you're looking for something short, light and fun this is it "
— Manoja, 4/7/2013" Janet Evanovich has always had a comedic gift. I love her books, they always make me laugh. I suppose the later books are better in the sense that the characters are more complex and the plots more intricate. But, really, I don't read her books primarly for those things. "
— Elise, 2/16/2013" A cute, quick read. I love Janet Evanovich's style of writing, a little humor, a little action, a little romance. This is the first one of her books I've read that hasn't been a Stephanie Plum story. I enjoyed it! "
— Sarah, 5/29/2012" This was a quick read. It was a cute little story about neighbors who are very unlikely to end up together. After a series of unfortunate events, it seems like being together is really the best thing for them despite their differences. "
— Lorrea(Threein3), 3/21/2012" Just a cute story -- a lot of reminders about what it's like to be in love and adore someone completely. "
— Aprilfortenberry, 1/8/2012" Funny light book. Obviously some of the characters were preliminary tries for some of the Stephanie Plum characters. I enjoyed it. "
— Jan, 7/26/2011" An early Janet Evanovich book. Not as good as the Plum books but you can definitely see the humor and writing that Evanovich will perfect with the Plum books. "
— Cheryl, 6/11/2011" This audio book's narrator was so annoying and spoke so slow, I lost interest in this book. I don't know if I would like it better as an actual book. "
— Lorraine, 5/20/2011" This is not a Stephanie Plum story, which allowed the reader to see Evanovich in a different light. Interesting story line of love, and quirky characters that are pretty enchanting in their own right. "
— Debbie, 4/28/2011" Because it was there and I needed a laugh. :) "
— Leslie, 4/3/2011" David Dodd saw a helicopter drop a chunk of metal through the roof of his lovely neighbor's bedroom, he got to meet the formidable and delightful Katherine Finn at last! "
— Toni, 3/29/2011" Another hilarious romp from Janet Evanovich. I think I liked the characters the most (out of her romances) in this book, but not my most favorite story line. Still great fun tho! "
— Heather, 2/27/2011" Book 8 of 2011

This was a cute little book. Maybe a bit insubstantial, but good for a lazy "I don't want to think about or do anything" type weekend. "
— Lara, 2/14/2011" Funny light book. Obviously some of the characters were preliminary tries for some of the Stephanie Plum characters. I enjoyed it. "
— Jan, 2/4/2011" Cute romance story. Boy falls instantly in love with girl who needs convincing. Evanovich does this style well. "
— Tara, 12/31/2010" Omg funny! JE is such a talented author and I am so very glad i stumpled across her. This book didn't let me down in the romance or laughing my butt off situations. Trust me its worth a read. "
