Publisher Description

Now available in one volume, two classic Janet Evanovich romances, which feature Elsie Hawkins—the prototype for fan favorite Grandma Mazur in the wildly popular Stephanie Plum novels

BACK TO THE BEDROOM

She was the mysterious woman in the long black cloak. He was the sexy guy next door. They shared a common wall between their Capitol Hill townhouses and not much else—until disaster scored a direct hit on the mystery woman’s bedroom and the sexy guy’s heart. He baked her a cake, she learned to throw a football, there were some misunderstandings in the living room, some mishaps in the yard, and some romantic moments everywhere...

THE ROCKY ROAD TO ROMANCE

When the delightful, daffy Dog Lady of station WZZZ offered to take on the temporary job of traffic reporter, Steve Crow tried to think of reasons to turn Daisy Adams down. Perhaps he knew that sharing the close quarters of a car with her for hours would give the handsome program director no room to resist her quirky charms. He always favored low-slung sports cars and high-heeled women, but that was before he fell for a free spirit who caught crooks by accident, loved old people and pets, and had just too many jobs! Loving Daisy turned Steve’s life upside down, especially once he adopted Bob, a huge dog masquerading as a couch potato…

"Cute, funny, charming, crazy events, and a sassy zany gun toting old lady. Yep, that's a Janet Ivanovich book. They books are predictable and consistent, but sometimes faithful and reliable is just what you want. I love Janet Ivanovich books when I am feeling blue or overwhelmed with life. "

" This book probably deserves more than two stars. It is a really good and clean mystery/romance. Not violent or sexy but what happened with this book is predictable. I read one of her books and loved it! Read another style of hers and loved it. This book was a mixture of the two. If this is the only book by her that you read, you will love it. If you have read others, you will see what happens with most authors. You love their humor and style and so does everyone else. They know what sells and do the almost exact same things again. Good book. Good beach read but I probably won't read anymore of hers for awhile. By the way, the setting is Northern Virginia DC area and that is always fun to read something that is familiar. "

" So I bought this book for 10 cents and it was awesome. Not a lot of deep reading, but I laughed so hard my husband was starting to wonder what was happening. Some of the funniest reading I've come across. "

" Ho...hum...I figured I'd give this author one more shot but apparently, I just don't like how she writes! The stories sound interesting enough but once I start reading the interest flees! The characters are a bit too quirky for my taste. 1.5 stars. "

" Janet Evanovich has always had a comedic gift. I love her books, they always make me laugh. I suppose the later books are better in the sense that the characters are more complex and the plots more intricate. But, really, I don't read her books primarly for those things. "
