Publisher Description

Fiercely loyal to his older brother, Alaric McCabe leads his clan in the fight for their birthright. Now he is prepared to wed for duty, as well. But on his way to claim the hand of Rionna McDonald, daughter of a neighboring chieftain, he is ambushed and left for dead. Miraculously, his life is saved by the soft touch of a Highland angel, a courageous beauty who will put to the test his fealty to his clan, his honor, and his deepest desires.

An outcast from her own clan, Keeley McDonald was betrayed by those she loved and trusted. When the wounded warrior falls from his horse, she is drawn to his strong, lean body. The wicked glint in his green eyes ignites a passion that will follow them back to Alaric's keep, where their forbidden love draws them deeper into the pleasures of the flesh. But as conspiracy and danger circle closer, Alaric must make an impossible choice: Will he betray his blood ties for the woman he loves?

"So good! I have to say that this series is my first experience with Maya Banks. I really enjoyed the first book in this series and really enjoyed how much more I got to see of Marian and Ewan in the second installment. You really get a good laugh out of the totrue that all the women put Ewan through on McCabe Land. LOVED Alaric. Him and Keeley were just so touching and there love for each was genuine. The ups and downs were really good and forced me to not be able to put this book down until the end. Def an emotional ending where you actually fear that they won't get there HEA. And I agree with all other reviews and readers. This book makes me very excited to start Caelens story. With two books to build him up, it's gonna be a great ending to this series! Good Job Maya Banks, you've sold me. *sigh*......"

" I love this book! Just like the first book about Ewan and Mairin, this second book of "McCabe Trilogy", also kept me read the book until is done. I was actually cried, I'm so happy that finally Alaric and Keely can be together. I cannot wait to read the last book of this series. "

" I LOVED THIS BOOK. the 2nd book in series is even better then 1st. Alaric sets off to McDonald land to ask for his future wife's hand but instead lands in front of Keeley injured and needing care but while caring for stubborn warrior sparks fly. This book brought me to tears. Couldn't believe the emotion it brought out in me, especially at end with Alaric. Awesome story kept me gripped till end. Fantastic HEA just hope the last brother gets his. "

" With a thorough plot, writing that sucks you in and swoon-worthy romance that will make you sigh, this book just had it all. The hero, Alaric is just one extremely sexy highlander who is both fiercely loyal to his clan and will fight for it at any cost and easy going. I really liked him although Calen would remain to be my favorite. Keely, on the other hand was not my kind of heroine. As much as she had my sympathy because of her situation, I still felt something quite off about her. She was rather..touchy. Idk, really. However, I believe that other readers might like her. If I would disregard that feeling I have for her, then I believe this story might have just rivaled Never Love a Highlander (the third book). Furthermore, I think--wait no. I know that this book would surely take fans of HR away. "

" I liked this historical romance with a good plot, exciting action, steamy scenes and sense of family but it seemed like for half the book the characters would brood about the no-win situation. Wounded warrior Alaric falls off his horse in front of Keely's cottage and she sews him up. "
