Publisher Description

When destiny brought Sir Balfour Murray and his wounded brother down the same road as Maldie Kirkaldy, she offered her services as a nurse even as she tried to deny the desire this dark-eyed knight had ignited at first sight. Soon they discover that they both share a mission of vengeance, but Maldie cannot tell him her true identity—to do so would brand her a spy . . .

Sworn to avenge his family as chief of the Doncoill Clan, Balfour vows to destroy his greatest foe, with Maldie at his side. Yet Balfour knows that he can no more afford to trust her than he can ignore his lust for this sultry beauty. Now, he is not only determined to unearth her deepest secrets, but also to pursue his passion for her. And nothing will stand in his way . . .

"Very good start to a great series just read them in order of the year the books start in and you will be on the right track. Ignore the copyright dates and you won't be confused. Some of the family trees are wrong in the rest of the books. I've found that the one in this book is the most accurate so far. It is the only one that I use to keep track of the reading order. Hannah Howell's website isn't very helpful so I go by this family tree instead."

" This is the first Hannah Howell book I have read. I enjoyed the mystery surrounding Maldie and her motivations and her relationship with Nigel and Eric. The action moved the plot along well, and the setting in Scotland was interesting. "

" What a sweet story. It held enough of my interest to have me continue w/the series (i.e., not merely out of a compunction to finish a series). It was hot w/out being too graphic. "

" I do like Hannah Howell and when I first found her books I was reading them as fast as I could find them. Now it's getting harder to read her because all her females are primarily the same character. How many short, petite women can there be in the highlands "

" I was a little spoiled having read Highland Honor first, but it didn't make me like it any less. I loved the idea of both brothers, Balfour and Nigel, falling for Maldie, and I felt so sorry for the injured and bedridden Nigel. Loved Eric's story too - looking forward to reading his book. "

" I read all of Ms Howell's books Back to Back to Back.. while this is a fun series I seriously do not recommend anyone doing so. The plots tend to be repetitious and run together. If you want to enjoy the Murray Clan, take your time.. there is much to enjoy just one at a time. "

" Better than I expected, this story (with a few exceptions) seemed nicely written. The smattering of errors (using "you" instead of "ye") are minor distractions but the story remains interesting. I will see after another book of Howell's if I still like her Highland books. "
