It’s time for Joss McMillan to prove himself as a Slayer. He failed to kill the vampire Vladimir Tod, but now he’s getting a second chance to make things right. He is in New York City, sent by the Slayer Society to hunt down a serial killing vampire. Joss will lead his Slayer team and stop the murderer. But all is not as it appears. When the team discovers that there is more than one suspect on the killing rampage, Joss must use all his skill to save the innocent people of New York City. Joss’s status as a Slayer — and his very life — depend on it. The Slayer Chronicles can be listened to alongside The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod or entirely on their own. "This book was good. I did struggle with the nightmare scenes and what their major focus for the follow of the novel. They seem just placed there for space. Other than that, there is some foreshadowing going on to the Vlad books. You do realize that Vlad and Joss are so much alike."

" It was really enticing and was brilliant how heather would put Cecile in there and brig a paranormal element into the book. Ten dollars well spent "
— Brianna, 2/19/2014" Love it! Definitely like it more than the first, not that First Kill wasn't a good read ( I loved that one too), but I loved this one. I've always been a Vlad girl, but I think I'm loving Joss more and more with every book. Can't wait for book three! "
— Jordan, 2/2/2014" Man, this book really makes me want the final book to be out already! I want to find out who killed Cecile, see the reconciliation that I know will happen between Joss and Vlad, and find out what's up with Snow's eyes! "
— Aurora, 11/27/2013" Haven't even read it yet but already know its gonna be amazing? Anyone know the exact date???????? "
— Alyssa, 11/11/2013" Heather Brewer never fails to write great books. "
— Colleen, 11/11/2013" Seemed a bit rushed, but still a cool story. I can't wait to see Kat kick Joss's butt in the next one (hopefully haha). "
— Austin, 10/1/2013" I thought it was a well thought action-packed book that tells the story from the slayer Joss's point of view instead of half-vampire Vladimir Tod in the chronicles of Vladimir Tod series. "
— Forrest, 7/26/2013" This book is well written but it was kind of boring to me and seemed to drag on forever, but overall a good YA read but i enjoyed the Vladimir Todd Series more. "
— Black, 7/1/2013" Heather Brewer did it again! I was not disappointed! "
— Angela, 6/20/2013" Loved it! This series is even better than the Vlad series, I think. I just adore Joss' character, his will, his courage, his strength. And the fight scenes rock! "
— Cheney, 6/5/2013" What an amazing second installment!! The challenge was bigger than I expected it to be!! And I was so happy for Joss at the very end!! When's the third one coming out????? "
— Hannah, 5/12/2013" Meh... It was alright, better than the first Slayer novel. I prefer the chronicles of Vladimir Tod <3 "
— Sara, 5/5/2013" I didn't expect to like this series as much as the original but am enjoying seeing the other side. I like that it includes details from the Vlad series but isn't just a rewrite of that. "
— Stacy, 3/15/2013" OMG! This book comes out the day I ship to boot camp :(..... I'm joining the Army. "
— Sharmaine, 2/1/2013" I love really watching Joss grow into the man he will be. I'm very curious to learn how all his close relationships with vampires will shape events in the future. "
— Olivia, 1/28/2013" Woah, Just Woah "
