"I gave this book four stars for impact - wow, was it powerful. Although not beautifully written, the truths presented in this book are beautiful and unforgettable. This is the story of two college room-mates, an American man who has all but turned his back on God and a Chinese man who has given up almost everything for God. Their two lives intersect in ways they never could have imagined and both face difficult questions about faith and faithfulness. The end climaxes into a beautifully imagined scene of a believer being welcomed home. This book was hard to read but it strengthened my faith and challenged me to walk closer to Jesus."

" I was given this book months ago and didn't fancy it - but once I'd started it I was gripped. What an intense, challenging story about life as a Christian in China but what depth of relationship with Jesus they have as a result. I wasn't too keen on some parts of the ending but the rest was fab. "
