"God is pure. He wants me to be pure as well. He has set up this world in such a way that sinful acts are punished and righteous acts are rewarded. As Randy Alcorn put it, "Purity is always smart; impurity is always stupid." and, "Purity always helps us. Impurity always hurts us." Another lesson I learned is that considering myself immune to a major sexual sin is a very dangerous place to be. Alcorn said, "Don't kid yourself that it can never happen to you - it can. And if you don't think it can, it almost certainly will." As I read, I was continually reminded of the phrase, "Purity paves the way to intimacy," although I am not sure where it came from."

About Randy Alcorn
Randy Alcorn is the founder and director of Eternal Perspective Ministries. He is the author of more than forty books, including Heaven, The Treasure Principle, and the 2002 Gold Medallion winner Safely Home. He and his wife live in Gresham, Oregon. They have two daughters, Angela and Karina, and several grandchildren.
