New York Times bestselling author Lisa Kleypas continues her beloved Friday Harbor series with a heartwarming tale of second chances and new beginnings.
Glass artist Lucy Marinn has just had her heart shattered. She had envisioned a beautiful future in Friday Harbor with her fiancé Kevin. But not only has Kevin dumped her—he’s left her for her sister. Despite his betrayal, Lucy largely blames herself—apparently this was just another wrong move in a series of bad romantic choices.
Kevin may not want to marry Lucy, but he still cares for her. He convinces his friend Sam Nolan, who owns a vineyard on San Juan Island, to date Lucy and help her recover from her bitterness. But when Sam and Lucy begin to get serious, Kevin starts having second thoughts. And when Lucy discovers why Sam approached her in the first place, it threatens their budding romance.
Can Lucy put her broken heart back together, finally escape old patterns, and discover true love in Friday Harbor?

"I did not realize this was the second book in a series when I began reading. I only got a little way in when I thought "I know these characters!" I had recently watched the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie "Christmas with Holly" which is based on the first book. In the movie they seem to have reordered the ages of the brothers and changed their occupations. I am now starting "Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor" so I can get the whole, real story of the Nolan family. I really enjoyed this romantic story with just a hint of the supernatural. Lucy and Sam are likable characters and I loved their honesty with eachother even when they couldn't quite be honest with themselves. All of the characters' relationships with Holly bring an added sweetness to the story."

" I loved it. I always love Lisa Kleypas' books though. "
— Melodi, 2/20/2014" I received this book as a giveaway and will happily recommend it to friends as an enjoyable read with a touch of magic. Kleypas did an amazing job of making the characters believable and while the magical touches seemed odd at first I enjoyed the little twists they added to the plot. "
— Janet, 2/13/2014" I love the characters and I can imagine how beautiful and enchanting San Juan Island & the Pacific Northwest is(gotta visit someday). However I wish the "magic" stuff in the story is not included and I think it is not necessary nor is it believable. Despite my misgivings I enjoyed this contemporary romance book and I must say it is a good weekend read. "
— EBG, 2/8/2014" A very light read. Enjoyable, simple. I would give it a 2.5 stars! It was good in its own way, but it lacked a certain depth that only Lisa Kleypas had previously managed to pull me in. "
— Sababa, 1/15/2014" Great Book, very well written. "
— Holly, 1/4/2014" The magical story of Lucy and Sam grabbed my heart and wouldn't let me go until the very last page. Reading the glimpse of Dream Lake, I can't wait for august and the ghost and Alex and more magic. I know what I will be dreaming about tonight. "
— Alisa, 12/1/2013" Lisa Kleypas is such a talented writer. Although I found this a little slow in the beginning, it didn't take long for the book to invite the reader into the world of her story. I look forward to reading all her books! "
— Laurie, 11/19/2013" Realized I read all three books in this series while watching Christmas with Holly based on the first book. All very enjoyable and more Seattle area books. "
— Academicsupport, 9/18/2013" Different from her older books, but still an enjoyable read! "
— Lisa, 8/1/2013" Meh...the first half was boring. I didn't like the magic in the story, it was silly. This read like a Nora Roberts novel. Definitely not one of my favorites from LK. "
— Allison, 6/15/2013" Loved it! First time reading Lisa Kleypas, look forward to reading more. "
— Rebecca, 11/6/2012" I thought the story in Rainshadow Road was okay. I didn't care for the magical elements or for Alice and Kevin, the antagonists. Based upon the story, it seems as if the author, Lisa Kleypas, may be transitioning away from romances and to "women's" fiction. "
— Tressa, 9/4/2012" Liked this book. Didn't love but it was a nice overall read. "
— Jessica, 7/7/2012" Great Book, but read the first on first. "
— Becky, 6/15/2012" i liked the book a nice love story "
