"I normally don't rate books with 5 stars but this was an excellent read. Loved the "heart-warming ET" side of the story ... but it also brought out the bioethics side in today's society. We read so many stories in the news of medical "mercy/suicide killings" of both the old and young. Even though this type of euthenasia is not legal ... it happens with the assistance of "well meaning" nurses, doctors, staff, visitors, ... and apparently Bioethics is taught in medical colleges. This novel touched numerous character's lives and their heartache as their loved ones are singled out for extermination."
— Brenda (5 out of 5 stars)
" excelent everyone should read it "
— Stacy, 2/20/2014" I just didn't like this book. Too long, disorganized, too many characters.... "
— Elizabeth, 2/11/2014" A very intricate book. For the first 400 pages you feel you are reading 3 different novels. This book has some very realistic details to it mixed with fantasy. If you like UFOs, you will like it. If you like stories about serial killers, you will like it. And if you like female heroines, you will like it. "
— Cres, 2/6/2014" Very good read, pure Koontz. "
— Velma, 2/3/2014" LOVED THIS BOOK MY FIRST DEAN KOONTZ AND IT WAS AWESOME "
— Kimberley, 1/28/2014" Good read. Typical of Koontz. "
— Rhonda, 1/27/2014" The manner by which the characters are introduced and come together in the end is interesting and lots of fun! Koontz has a great message in this "scary" book. "
— Patsy, 1/23/2014" Also one of Koontz's more hopeful/optimisitc novels. Really enjoyed this book. "
— Merritt, 1/11/2014" Another great book from Dean Koontz! Thus far, out of all of his books, this is my fav! A must read! :-) "
— Laurie, 1/11/2014" My first Dean Koontz book. It was odd and weird but I couldn't stop reading it. "
— Heidi, 1/2/2014" One of my most favorite books written by Koontz. LeiLani is a character that stays with you years later. I wish I had not loaned this book to my sister as I have never seen it again and would love to read it again. "
— Margaret, 12/24/2013" 3 stars fro story - 1 for writing. The chapters are so short it's like eating peanuts. "
— Roberta, 12/8/2013" I love this book. Read this in only 2 days. "
— Melissa, 12/6/2013" Kenny picked this out at the last minute for a road trip (audiobook). I was bored out of my mind anytime the book was following Curtis, until he met Gabby. I did like Mickey's storyline though and that's what kept me into the book. "
— Shayla, 12/3/2013" I love Dean Koontz's writing, and how he includes dogs in the plots...this was an enjoyable read, but the characters just not quite believable. "
— Sue, 11/29/2013" Very good. I want to tell you about the book and not give everything away. But since I'm no good at that, the not giving everything away part, I'll just have to have you read about Jake. "
— Shayne, 11/26/2013" One moment I am laughing, the next I have knots in my stomach. I am interested in the characters, where they have been, and am dying to know where they are going in this story. Perfect for reading a couple chapters in the evenings. "
— SCristina, 7/9/2013" Koontz will always be a second-rate King, but occasionally he writes a good one. This is one of them. "
— Christian, 2/11/2013" I love it. Well written and you'll fall in love with the people in it. "
— Phillip, 12/16/2012" Normally I enjoy Koontz's books but this was a huge let down. I found it really slow going at the start - it was like reading three random, unrelated life stories. The 'twists' were obvious and the entire book was just too weird for me. "
— Sarah, 11/22/2012" Yet another good book by Koontz "
— Jennifer, 10/25/2012" I absolutely love Dean Koontz this book was absolutely one of the best books I have ever read. It is a must read :) "
— Justina, 8/5/2012" Rather interesting book. The plot was interesting and the going back and forth of the characters was a nice touch. Thought the ending could've been a little more interesting. Overall I good book to read. "
— Micky, 5/30/2012" Read it because Brielle loved the book and insisted I read it. It was interesting and I did enjoy it but wasn't quite as moved as she was. It keeps you turning the pages though. Surprise ending. "
— Leanne, 2/22/2012" I really liked this book it was cleverly written and the father is so hated u can't help but feel for the mutant and the little boy is running u can't help but follow eager to learn his story but...I don't know it may be just me I'm sick of reading about damn dogs in his books lol "
— Candace, 12/29/2011" By far the most gripping, chilling, deeply moving book I've read. I don't usually embrace a character as much as I did Leilani Klonk. My most favorite character in any book I've read. I've recommended this book to countless people and they've all loved it. "
— James, 12/12/2011" Love Dean Kootz...read this one a couple years ago. "
— Danna, 11/6/2011" It's a very nice book; beautiful story and extremely funny throughout. However, I always prefer Koontz' more dark and twisted writing style over this bright and beautiful one. Just a matter of preference. Good book none the less. "
— Arni, 8/30/2011" Unforgettable characters in an unforgettable novel. "
— Desiree, 6/9/2011" Dean Koontz is a great writer and i loved this book
i think its one of his best
great villan and lots of humor
but still scary "
— Frank, 5/21/2011" I enjoyed the story and the characters, but found the expalinations of humanity and it's foilables overly long. It got to the point where i would skim them to get back to the action. "
— Janall, 5/19/2011" I liked the characters very much but found the book way too slow. "
— Stacey, 5/18/2011"
Very cool story. Great characters. Way too long. It took me almost a year to read this book. "
— Rod, 5/14/2011" An angel in the form of a young boy is chased by demons and helps other characters in their plots. Leilani, a young girl and her neighbor. "

— Karyn, 4/21/2011" Started off extremely slow, lost interest in it. Put the book down numerous times. The ending was good, after he connected all the characters. "
