"The story takes place in Cold Mountain Penitentiary - is about the lives of Paul Edgecombe, John Coffey and Mr. Jingles. Stpehen Kings is a master in his art and he just touches our emotions with ease. At one point , the book becomes a page turner and we can't stop reading till we completed it. Drama is the least of my favourites but King has made even that enjoyable.I never thought I could complete this book such quick time(2 weeks) but I did. If you are a book lover you must read it.."

— Sulene, 1/24/2014" Devoured this, chapter by chapter, when it came out. From memory it was released thin little book by thin little chapter over a series of weeks and I was enthralled. Masterful storytelling - such powerful characters "
— Alison, 1/22/2014" Wonderful story. Great plot. The story just goes to show how not watching what a person says or how they say it can put the best of us in an extremely difficult situation. His just happened to be The Green Mile, and he was guilty but could not prove his innocence. He didn't want to continue with his healing powers though, they were driving him crazy. Excellent story. Well written. "
— Kirk, 1/20/2014" This book will be a good book "
— Torriann, 1/17/2014" The green mile was ok. It's not my normal genre that I read from and I always find that I don't enjoy a book as much if I have already seen the movie. There were a couple of things in the book that made me laugh out loud and the story got better near the end. Some of the scenes were quite graphic and really painted a picture in my head as I was reading it but the story didn't grip me. "
— Hazel, 1/12/2014" Read this when it came out in chapter books. I would read it on a few hours and then have to wait weeks for the next one. It was brilliant on kings part to do that. Haha. "
— Stacy, 1/11/2014" A nice series which combines King's fondness for the macabre with his fondness for the good that stirs through humanity from time to time. "

— Sasha, 4/30/2011" I broke my rule, and watched the movie before I read this. Since this book is a little differently written than King's other books, it was hard to read it, since I already knew what was going to happen. "
— Dominique, 4/29/2011" i enjoyed this book. could not put it down. "
