The incomparable Lisa Scottoline, along with daughter Francesca, is back with more wild and wonderful wit and wisdom: My Nest Isn't Empty, It Just Has More Closet Space. Critics and readers loved Lisa Scottoline's first collection of true-life stories, which only encouraged her—now she's back with these all-new, exciting adventures. She's farther down the road now, and the scenery has changed—ex-husbands Thing One and Thing Two are in her rear-view mirror, daughter Francesca has moved into an apartment, and Lisa's finding the silver lining in her empty nest, which has lots more room for her shoes. And some things have stayed the same—Mother Mary is still the feistiest octogenarian on the planet, who won't part with her recipe for tomato sauce or her thirty-year old bra. In this book Lisa and Francesca spill all their family secrets—which sound a lot like yours, if you understand that three generations of women is the formula for spontaneous combustion. Inspired by her weekly column entitled, "Chick Wit" for The Philadelphia Inquirer, this is a book you'll have to put down—just to stop laughing.

"I love how this book is set up. It is just a bunch of little stories and that makes it perfect to carry with you. Yep i am that person who has a book in the car I mean what else should I do when waiting on kids to get out of school or run into a friends house. Not only are they nice and short giving you something to read in 5 min or less you really could set this down and not pick it up for days and its ok. You can still follow because there is no plot to it just stories about her, her daughter, Mother Mary, and her dogs. I read it in a day because I just had too. The stories will have you laughing. Francesca wrote one about how to talk to mom. you know we are all waiting for that boy to grow up and write us the adult version of that book. The story of the new TV and the appliance's on revolt. You will love it I promise guys and girls alike." — Pam (5 out of 5 stars)

“Scottoline stirs up even more sassy fun--this time bringing her daughter, Francesca, into the mix as co-writer. A clever compilation from two generations of women reflecting on family, love, dessert, and everything in between.
Essays that are by turns rueful, uplifting, sweet, kooky--and always amusing. A funny, uplifting read for women of any generation.
Lisa Scottoline and her daughter Francesca have proven themselves to be naturals at both writing and narrating humorous essay. They deliver the themes of love, strength, and family connectedness in a delightfully witty fashion. The overall feel is of a conversation with friends whose accounts of zany relatives and situations may be unique in detail but are recognizable for anyone with a family. The appeal is universal.
I've found the perfect daily picker-upper -- a chapter or two from My Nest Isn't Empty, It Just Has More Closet Space. Scottoline writes about whatever crosses her path but has also allowed readers a peek into her own family life. Francesca's voice is entirely her own, but she shares Lisa's ability to turn borderline TMI into memorable humor and insights. The result is one of the best double acts in the business.
" This was so much more fun than the Nora Ephron. I think Scottoline appeals to me more, and that she would be more likely to like me. Not really worth 5 stars, but lots of fun. "
" Not as good as her others - she moved away from her norm and attemped a more personal story. I did enjoy it but was expecting a little more! "
" For anyone who is a fan of Lisa Scottoline of just good humorous writing you will love this book. Lisa is just a straight shooting, honest to goodness funny lady. She loved her family, her fur babies, diet coke and books. She is the kind of person that you want to know because you feel like she would be the kind of friend that made good solid relationships easy and no fuss. I love her fiction books and that is what drew me to her short stories about her real life. I also think that her daughter is something to watch out for! "
" Not particularly funny, but not horrible either. "
" Funny. Good to read while traveling as it's easy to pick up and put down. Loved the vignettes by her daughter. "
" Ok! I liked her earlier collection of short stories much better. Daughter Francesca has some serious writing skills though! "
" These women are so real. It's all about life as it happens. The laughs, the conflicts, the tears. Just a good fun read! "

" I love Lisa's collections of her short stories. Light hearted read that was perfect for the hospital--except laughing made my incision hurt! :) "
" Have grown to love Scottoline's books, both fiction and non, and this one is no exception. Love her sense of humor and philosophy on life, stories about Mother Mary, and her daughter's contributions as well. "
" Hillarious! Scottline has a newspaper column and writes about the stuff I love. Sarcastic, realistic, truly tell it like it is. Her daughter Francesca joined with her own stories. Can't wait to read more from this author. "
" Scottoline can do no wrong as far as I am concerned. I love her tales from her everyday life. Loved her daughter Francesca's input as well. "
" Great book to listen to in the car. Very funny and entertaining! "
" Sort of cute. Basicly little vignettes of life as a middle aged Mom after her daughter has moved out and on to NYC. I didn't feel enriched but did laugh qute a few times, read a few sections to my hubby who was also amused. Good bedside reading. "

" Read by Lisa and Francesca Scottoline (mother/daughter)and focusing on the funny bits of everyday gal life - this makes a most enjoyable audiobook. Laugh-loud-funny and certainly makes me want to check out her mystery series. "

" I enjoyed the short essays in this book, some contributed by the author's daughter. I could relate to her stories and found them quite amusing. Women of a certain age will certainly relate. "

" Enjoyable. I'm not a Scottoline fan . .. never read any of her fiction, but may give it a try. This is a collection of her newspaper columns along with her daughter's additional essays. "
" Great book. I really enjoyed listening to it. "
" Started out cute but assumed that you were a reader of her column which I was not. "
" Cute stories but I think I'd prefer to read them in the newspaper, they were a little much all at once. Francesca's stories were very cute, she should write a novel, a great writer. This was a cute book and an easy read. "
" This is a fun read for those of us in middle age, facing some of the same challenges as Ms. Scottoline. She and her daughter both have a sharp wit. I found many shared experiences in this little book. :) "
" This was the right book at the right time. "
" Wonderful, funny stories about family life by a woman of a certain age. "
