Then her wallet goes missing. And Bennie's life goes crazy.
Someone is posing as the outspoken, blue-eyed, blond attorney and is wreaking havoc around town, apparently determined to destroy everything Bennie loves. Only one person can pull off this double deception -- Bennie's identical twin sister, Alice Connelly. But as far as Bennie knows, Alice left Philly long ago and never looked back.
When events escalate into murder, the maverick lawyer realizes that the stakes are far greater than she feared. But Bennie Rosato refuses to be anyone's victim. To find the killer, she'll plunge headfirst into a life-and-death investigation that will bring her face to face with evil darker, yet more familiar, than anything before.

"Good story with a subplot of an evil twin. Bennie Rosato is the owner of a law firm whose main client is murdered. Bennie has three associates at her law firm all of which have their own book in this series. I will be on the look out for them. "
— Rebekkila (4 out of 5 stars)
“Another bestseller is on the docket for Scottoline.”
— Publishers Weekly“It’s nice to have Bennie back in the spotlight in a series whose focus jumps among the four partners.”
— Booklist" This was a perfect book to listen to during my comute. "
— Laurel, 2/18/2014" Great Author! Love her humor. "
— Carol, 2/3/2014" Her descriptions were vivid and often amusing and the plot lent itself to self-parodie but I felt she stayed true to the intention. However, I thought the reveal of the murderer was rather sudden and abrupt with little or no build up of tension on that point. It was almost a by product of another tension filled part of the story. It felt like the author had suddenly remembered that she had not yet revealed the murderer and rushed to get it over with. All in all, a good book with funny legal characters but it didn't hold my attention as much as I felt it should. "
— Lorna, 2/1/2014" My first Scottoline book. Got me hooked and I went on to read many others, mostly about the various associates at an all female law firm. Great paperback/beach reading - mystery/detective genre. "
— Lynne, 1/31/2014" I like to read this author for a quick entertaining read--not to thought provoking. Benny's twin sister makes a re-appearance and is up to no good. "
— Sapna, 1/30/2014" I will read more of her! "
— Tammie, 1/26/2014" Half way through the book and couldn't care less about the characters or even how it might end.... never a good sign.... "
— Jessica, 1/17/2014" Way to much language! I started, liked the story line, but had to put it down about 75 pages into it. If language doesn't bother you, then it seems like a good story lie, but not for me. "
— Wendy, 1/14/2014" love the character, need to read the first one first "
— Kathy, 12/31/2013" This is the first book that I have read by this author. I really enjoyed it. It was a fast paced mystery/legal thriller. "
— chambejd, 11/29/2013" Pretty good, but mostly due to the narration. "
— Athena, 9/18/2013" Funny, more enjoyable then the other books in the series. I recommend.... Enjoy! "
— Beanse, 2/12/2013" Another favorite author -- love to see what's up with the characters. "
— Johnna, 10/29/2012" This book was really interesting - very dark. i still enjoyed every minute of it and didn't see the ending coming! I'm turning into a big Lisa Scottoline fan! "
— Traci, 9/1/2012" I listened to this on CD. This book would have been much better abridged. It was very long and it really didn't need to be. It was a great story, just too long. "
— Sheryl, 8/7/2012" I thought this was a very good book. There were lots of twists and turns that I did not expect and I like to be surprised when I read a book. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good mystery. "
— Shannon, 7/6/2012" One of a series about Bennie Rosato and her law firm. A great story unfolds as Bennie battles her own twin. I enjoy how Scottoline incorporates much about herself into the character of Bennie. "
— Lauren, 6/6/2012" Lisa writes popular mystery thriller with humor and style. "
— Douglas, 3/24/2012" I'm really enjoying all of Lisa's books. I'm reading them in order and they do build on the characters. Lot's of fun. Fast read. "
— Jean, 1/9/2012" I liked the book. I loved it was set in Philly and the characters grabbed you. I wish I would have read other books first but I will definitely add this author to my list. "
— Beth, 10/16/2011" I enjoy this author and this book was no exception. Good story development and recurring characters. "
— Barb, 7/23/2011" I'm really enjoying all of Lisa's books. I'm reading them in order and they do build on the characters. Lot's of fun. Fast read. "
— Jean, 5/14/2011" Great Author! Love her humor. "
— Carol, 4/26/2011" An older book in the series...same theme as Look Again, which I just read. Still, I enjoy these mysteries. Lisa Scottoline is a talented tour guide... "
— Marie, 4/9/2011" Audio book. I liked it ok, nothing special. There were a couple of good lines from it, including "Hearing it out loud gave Bennie the creeps. She sipped her coffee but the creeps were still there. Creeps are the only thing that coffee doesn't cure." "
— Wendy, 12/23/2010" Annoying - Bennie Rosato is annoying "
— Marca, 12/20/2010" A totally fluffy beach read kind of book. But I liked it okay. "
— Carol, 11/14/2010" I'm being generous with the 3 stars. There's no way a female law firm would act so airheaded in meetings--that part irritated me some. I thought a lot of the characters needed more depth. "
— Jo, 8/13/2010" This book was pretty good but since I had accidentally read a later book first, it made it kinda tough to really get into it....know what I mean? "
— Terri, 8/12/2010" It was okay. A little slow at first. Definitely like other Scottoline books better than this one. "
— Annette, 7/2/2010" Now this book was an easy read. It was also a very good read. I enjoyed it.

J. Robert Ewbank author "John Wesley, Natural Man, and the 'Isms'" "
— J., 6/19/2010" somewhat over the top and unbelievable at times, but funny and quirky enough to keep me listening "
