"There are two types of books that I usually can't wait to finish: those that intrigue me with their mystery that I have not figured out, and those where I have already completely figured out the entire plot, but I still need to make sure I'm right. Magyk was neither of these types. Rather, Magyk created a new category in the books I've read. I had figured out the major secret of the book through careful reading, but I had yet to figure out some of the main plot twists or character developments; therefore, there was enough mystery to keep me reading, but the ending came as no surprise to me. The imagery beautifully painted a picture of every scene, and the character development was handled expertly through dialogue and masterful switches between thought processes of different people. I lvoed the book, and the only reason I didn't give it a five star was because I had already figured out the main secret, and I normally don't like books that I can predict."
