"This second book of the Septimus Heap series started out slow for me. I wasn't as quickly enchanted as in book one, but after awhile Sage's inventiveness and creative, believable twists caught me up again. Fun, sometimes hair-raising read aimed at middle grade."
— Patricia (4 out of 5 stars)
“With its quick pace, humor, and clever cast of characters [Flyte] is terrifically entertaining. Fans of the first book will be delighted with this sequel to Septimus’ story.”
— VOYA (starred review)“Readers, won over by Sage’s confiding, whimsical tone and tightly interlocking plot elements, will welcome Septimus Heap as their second-favorite wizard.”
— Booklist“Doyle’s narration has a quiet intensity that creates tension and heightens the drama…Yet Doyle also plays up the story’s many humorous moments…Doyle’s impeccable pacing ensures that listeners won’t miss a word, and he has a way of ending chapters that emphasizes Sage’s most breath-catching moments.”
— AudioFile“Those who have been waiting for Flyte…will not be disappointed and are likely to return for more.”
— School Library Journal" The book is great! Angie Sage is a superb writer. However, I don't think, that Gerard Doyle get all the caracters right. Especially Beetle has a too deep voice for a young teenager. But Marcia was better than in the first book. "

— Anne-sophie, 7/20/2013" this was no wear near as good as the first it just went by too fast! "
— Tabby, 3/24/2013" What a wonderful sequal! In the same style as Magyk, with the same loveable characters (and a few new ones:D) It makes me want to play counterfeet. The best stuff, however, cannot be written do to the fact that it would give the plot away. "
