A captivating romance from the New York Times bestselling author of Remembrance
Now the New York Times bestselling author transports us from modern-day Virginia to the high mountain deserts of 1873 Colorado, with a vibrant new tale about a feisty lady and the man she was meant to love.
Petite Kady Long, a celebrated chef about to be married to a gorgeous man, felt she was the luckiest woman alive. But when she tried on an antique satin wedding dress, she was overcome with dizziness.
When she opens her eyes, Kady is in the harsh, sunlit landscape of 1873 Legend, Colorado. There she meets Cole Jordan, a tall, rangy, and very appealing man. But while Kady is anxious to return to her time, Cole has other ideas—ideas that could give him and the inhabitants of Legend what they so desperately need: a future.

"Most of the times it seems I complain about something in Deveraux's books this is not one of those cases. I Absolutely Enjoyed and Loved this book!! About a woman who is engaged to be married who finds an old wedding dress and accessories in an antique flour bin she's purchased. Thinking the dress looks to be about her size she puts them on. She instantly transported back in time to the early to mid 1800's where she meets another man who tricks her into marriage. Really cute, funny, just has a little bit of everything in it. I think this is the book I figured Deveraux had the potential of writing. Gosh I loved this story. So good!"

Don’t miss this latest novel from the pen of one of America's best-loved romance writers.”
— Amazon.com, editorial review" Bizarre. Full of time travel. Unpredictable. Fun. Love story. Good stuff. "
— Linda, 2/16/2014" Very good book. When I was reading it, I didn't think what was going to happen next and when I read on, it wasn't what I thought what would happen. Read about four times already. "
— Patty, 2/15/2014" No one can question Jude Deveraux's ability to write and captivate her readers. This book left me incoherent until i finished it. every new page meant i couldn't put it down! This book has everything, and right when you thought you figured everything out, there's another twist that leaves you dieing to read more. i'm not going to tell you about the context of the book because it really is one you just have to read. There's too many things for me to even begin to tell, so please read it!!!!! "
— Roxy, 2/12/2014" i don't know words enough to say how much i loved this book "
— Ellen, 2/3/2014" Legend gave me my first little taste of 'time travel,' and I LOVED it! This was a really fun read and remains one of my favorite Deveraux novels. "
— Chelesbells, 1/26/2014" Time travel. I just luv it. Reminds me of Knight of the Shining Amour. Read it ages ago n will definitely read it again. "
— Fauziah, 1/19/2014" I loved this book. I enjoyed the time travel and the fact that the main lady was not extra thin and perfect. All types of women should be cast in the books. I loved Kady's spunk and Cole is a perfect match for her. It is a must read!!! "
— Rachel, 1/17/2014" From memory, I liked the three-dimensional characters. They all have good, but also bad, traits. There were times I also was exasperated with the main character, like I can be with my (close) friends. I think Jude Deveraux is an author who can write more fleshed-out characters in romance novels. "
— Izlinda, 1/10/2014" I'm revising my opinion of this book. Its not as good as the other Jude Deveraux books, but it is still good. I just feel like the Montgomery sagas are a lot better then this one. "
— Maya, 12/27/2013" It sounded so good and looked quite romantic, but ended up being kind of strange. Time travel. Alternate realities. It was confusing. At the end, I wondered what the point was. "
— Britt, 11/25/2013" I've owned this book for years and it still makes me cry! One of my favorite books "
— Kat, 8/30/2013" This was a slow start but was fairly good after I got into it. "
— Genetta, 8/25/2013" I've always enjoyed time travel & this is an interesting twist. If you could go back in time, what & when? "
— Val, 8/9/2013" Love this book because of the romance. The plot and going back in time is kind of weird but still loved it. It's definitely on my 'will read again' list. "
— Amy, 6/3/2013" Not at all what I expected. Started out okay, typical chick lit, but then it went into time travel, back to the 1800's. Came back to the present, and then went back again to change history. It was so different I had to keep reading to see where it all went. "
— Carrie, 5/8/2013" a sweet romance, I'm a sucker "
— Kristine, 1/29/2013" I like this books. It so interested. "
— Dgold, 11/5/2012" This was pretty good and I liked that it was set in Colorado for a lot of the book. Of course it also contains time travel which I seem to totally gravitate to. It was predictable for the most part, but a fun read. "
— Sara, 9/4/2012" The plot is fascinating, not your usual lineal time travel book. I was left with a couple of questions at the end but it was still a good read. "
— Mollie, 7/15/2012" One of my favorite all time books "
— Roni, 2/24/2012" Loved the book. Never read any book like it!!!!! It has great suspense and fantasy. "
— Shalini, 11/27/2011" This definately was not one of my favorite of JD's books. She is an interesting writer and there is definately potential, but it all just falls flat, things were just too convoluted. The story twisted and turned until you could lose interest. I give this one two of five stars. "
— Wendy, 8/13/2011" I thought this book was really good. It had a surprise curve that I did not see coming. It makes you think and really believe that time travel is possible. "
— Ashley, 7/8/2011" Some parts are kind of eerie when Kady met the grandmother. I fell in love with both Cole and Tarik. Too bad Cole wasn't who I imagined him to be. "
— Rain, 6/13/2011" I love Jude Deveraux's romance novels because they are fast, fun and easy to read. I love Legend because of the setting in the Rocky Mountains. "
— Niki, 4/25/2011" Deveraux delivers another well-written romance, replete with time travel and redemption for a whole family. "
— LeAnn, 3/28/2011" I loved this book. I enjoyed the time travel and the fact that the main lady was not extra thin and perfect. All types of women should be cast in the books. I loved Kady's spunk and Cole is a perfect match for her. It is a must read!!! "
— Rachel, 2/21/2011" Time travel. I just luv it. Reminds me of Knight of the Shining Amour. Read it ages ago n will definitely read it again. "

— jen8998, 2/15/2010" This is a very interesting book. A love story, a mystery and time travel all rolled into one good story. It is a long story, but through most of it you cannot put it down. "
