Publisher Description

Jesus is simply the greatest leadership model of all time, and He asks us to make a difference in the world we live in by being effective servant leaders. Ken Blanchard, Rick Warren and Bill Hybels join forces to offer a clear, insightful look at Jesus, the servant leader. Lead Like Jesus is a new concept to help people take God out of the spiritual compartment of their private spiritual life and give Him free reign in all their daily actions and relationships, especially their leadership roles. Jesus set the basic foundation for the leadership journey throughout his ministry. During His time on earth, Jesus poured His life into the training of His disciples in the first three leadership arenas, and during that process, He equipped them to follow His leadership philosophy after He was gone as they moved to the organizational level and attempted to establish the church.

""Lead like Jesus" is exactly that. A look at the life and leadership model of Jesus, His example, His methods, His teachings as shared with the disciples. It firmly teaches the model of servant-leadership as expressed by Jesus Himself."

Quotes

  • “Along with guest speakers, the three authors give a lively and spontaneous talk on Christian leadership. All the speakers are thoughtful people whose ideas about leadership go beyond those endorsed by Christians. They show how vision, planning, and a sound moral base can be incorporated into anyone’s leadership style. They warn intellectual types to lead by example and advise everyone to be honest, communicate clearly, plan ahead, evaluate performance, and leverage strengths to get things done. The guest speakers have perspectives that add clarity and variety to the lesson as it moves along…This is a full plate of guidance from an exceptional group of speakers.”

Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875) was born in Odense, Denmark, the son of a poor shoemaker and a washerwoman. As a young teenager, he became quite well known in Odense as a reciter of drama and as a singer. When he was fourteen, he set off for the capital, Copenhagen, determined to become a national success on the stage. He failed miserably, but made some influential friends in the capital who got him into school to remedy his lack of proper education. In 1829 his first book was published. After that, books came out at regular intervals. His stories began to be translated into English as early as 1846. Since then, numerous editions, and more recently Hollywood songs and Disney cartoons, have helped to ensure the continuing popularity of the stories in the English-speaking world.
