Publisher Description

Kitty Norville is a midnight-shift DJ for a Denver radio station—and a werewolf in the closet. Sick of lame song requests, she accidentally starts "The Midnight Hour," a late-night advice show for the supernaturally disadvantaged.

After desperate vampires, werewolves, and witches across the country begin calling in to share their woes, her new show is a raging success. But it's Kitty who can use some help. With one sexy werewolf hunter and a few homicidal undead on her tail, Kitty may have bitten off more than she can chew.

"Naming a Werewolf "Kitty" isn't the only unique thing about this book. Unlike a lot of other titles, I was immediately hooked on this title. Kitty starting off with a segment that later turned into her show aka helpline / Frasier Crane-esque radio talk show for supernatural beings is something that would immediately get urban fantasy fans on this title. For those that want some romance in their titles, you might want to wait for subsequent books. Because while I see a possibility of one, there isn't any at this point in the Kitty Norville series One thing that I didn't like though was that the book ended with the antagonist still alive, kicking and seemingly scot free while Kitty (while still alive and not behind any bars) ends the book at a bit of a low point. Listeners/Readers who might be triggered by non-consensual sex might want to pass on this book though. The person wasn't physically forced. But since relationship of the two having sex was unequal in the boss/master/ social "superior" screwing a weaker employee/member because it is the master's "right," it is rape in my vocabulary. All in all, it's an enjoyable series (except for the possible triggering scene of rape) "

" Kitty, a werewolf, has her own radio show where creatures of the night can call and talk about their problems. But not everybody likes what she does and so someone puts a price on her head. Things in her own pack aren't all good either.[return][return]Pretty entertaining, but I won't bother with the rest in the series. "

" My first werewolf book, ever. Again, not something I'd normally pick, but the cover intrigued me. Kitty is a werewolf/nighttime DJ, and is a spunky little character. I'll give the rest of the series a shot if I stumble over it in the library. "

" This is one of my favorite series in the supernatural genre. Loved the main character, Kittie. She is very well-drawn and three dimensional. She grows into her strength in the first books in the series; by later books, she is kicking ass with the best of the heroines. Highly recommended series. "
