"Nick's story is one of the most heartbreaking in the Dark Hunter series. This look back at Nick's life really makes you hope that a different ending is possible. I love seeing Nick as a 14 year old who still has choices to make and perhaps a different future ahead of him. His relationship with his mother is one of the most truthful and loving I've ever come across. It's fun to see the characters we've come to know from the Dark Hunter world younger and without some of the heartbreak that we know is coming. I really hope that this piece of the Dark Hunter world sees a better outcome for Nick than the one we've been exposed to. I can't wait to see how Nick fares in this series."

“For Dark-Hunter fans, this series offers an interesting counterpoint…Nick’s trademark sass gives the story a humorous edge. While this spin-off series works on its own, the exploits are significantly more meaningful for Dark-Hunter fans.”
— RT Book Reviews (4½ stars)“[A] publishing phenomenon…[Sherrilyn Kenyon is] the reigning queen of the wildly successful paranormal scene. . .Just one example of arguably the most in-demand and prolific authors in America these days.
— Publisher's WeeklyKenyon's writing is brisk, ironic and relentless imaginative. These are not your mother's vampire novels.
— Boston Globe[An] engaging read.
— Entertainment Weekly" This was ok, I don't really get how a teen would be into it though because it really builds so much on the existing series. "
— Sherie, 2/14/2014" I love this story line. The book was good, but I'm very addicted to Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters. And I'm curious how Nick is changing the future by altering the past. How much worse it will make his outcome or will it be better? How long do we have to wait for another one?? "
— Rachel, 2/13/2014" This is another great addition to the CON series. Once again trouble has found Nick and with the help of his friends he has to stop thier new football coach from stealing the souls of the football team. In top of everything else Nick has to get control of his powers and learn how to use them before someone else kills him to gain his powers. We finally get to see how Nick's actions are affecting the future and how he is becoming more intangled in the Dark Hunter World. Now he has to figure out who are really his friends and who are the enemy before it is too late. "
— Lacy♪, 1/31/2014" I started to read this book because my teacher had recommended the first one to me in the begining of the year. So when the sequal came out I was excited to read it. About 190 pages in I stopped becasue of it's too frequent descriptions of demons and anti-religion content. I liked the plot, it's just that I don't beileve in that kind of stuff. "
— Lisa, 1/25/2014" This was book two in the Chronicles of Nick series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I really enjoyed this book and I can not wait to read book three. Nick is an awesome character and I love reading these and seeing how he became the man he is in the Dark Hunters novels. I would definitely recommend this series. "
— Wendy, 1/14/2014" Not quite as good as the first one, but still an amusing read. I kinda wish I knew how many books this was going to go through, and where its intended end. "
— Maryellen, 1/10/2014" I found this book kind of confusing until I realized (about 3/4 of the way through) that this was book 2 of a series, not book 1. Probably would have been better if I had actually read the 1st one 1st. "

— Shehreyar, 3/15/2013" I enjoyed it merely because I love all things Dark Hunter. Even though this is a YA I still found the story interesting. And while it doesn't hurt to have the involvement of already well known characters the history of the Malachai is very enlightening. "
