"Young James Bond is an intriguing character. I admire the way he never gives in even when everything is stacking up against him. In this story we meet James in the Carribean where he is spending time with his aunt. It is supposed to be recuperative after his adventures in Double or Die but did you really expect a Young Bond book to be about recovery? Not a chance. A freak storm, a kidnapping, gruesome deaths, enslavement, and a daring escape all feature in this fantastically action packed and fast moving story. Other characters which I liked in this story were Manny, Garcia, El Huracan and, of course, Precious. I'd imagine you could read this book without having read the previous books in the series."

" This is a fast paced and exciting story that takes the reader to some wonderful but scarey locations. The Idea that such a place as this island exists is amazing, and James ends up there..... ineviatble. It was lacking in depth of plot for me, It seemed that all the author wanted to do was rush me to the end of the story without giving me much to do. "
— Gillian, 2/17/2014" Never mind, THIS is the best one...again so far. "
— Rory, 1/24/2014" I really enjoyed this book because it had a lot of suspense in it. I really enjoyed reading it. "
— Sasank, 1/22/2014" Swimming through honey is difficult. "
— Freedom, 1/21/2014" I enjoyed the book Hurricane Gold by Charles Higson because it is a fast paced adventure with James Bond in his younger years. Somebody who enjoys action and a rushed story line. The climax is intense with it's descriptive words. Overall I recommend this book to anyone who likes action. "
— Frank, 1/18/2014" Like the three prior novels in this series this book was great and definetly worth reading. I quite liked the idea of the Avenue of Death. "
— Elnatan, 12/19/2013" The book is fairly violent, but the ending was a tad cliche and trite. This series is starting to become formulaic. "
— Sonja, 12/18/2013" Wow so much happened in so little pages. Amazing from start to finish leaving me wondering what on earth is going to happen next after every chapter. "
— Taylor, 12/1/2013" These seem to get better as the series goes along. I would not mind seeing Mr. Higson write some companion Bond novels: novels using some of the characters introduced in the Young James Bond series and occuring between Fleming's existing novels. Just a thought. "
— Kerry, 11/24/2013" This is a good book. James bond is so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "
— Stan189, 9/29/2013" Not as good as Double or Die. This installment of Young Bond is weakened by some less interesting characters. Still, I enjoyed it. "
