Publisher Description

When Cameron MacAlpin learns the identity of the golden beauty tossed before him as a debt payment, he can't believe his fortune! For cat-eyed Avery Murray is the perfect weapon to use against Payton Murray—Avery's brother—who dishonored Cameron's own sister. Yet his plan to deliver the same insult and avenge his clan is thwarted by spirited Avery herself, who tempts him to forget everything but the passion coursing through his blood. Still, a knight of the Highlands owes his allegiance to his clan before all else—even his heart. Avery is outraged at her captor's accusations against her brother. Though he makes it no secret that he intends to use her to avenge his sister's lost honor, he adds to her fury by vowing to take her by seduction, rather than force. Worse, she knows deep down that this virile knight stirs her as no other man ever has. Courageously, passionately, she gives him freely what he vows to take—her body and her heart—knowing that she could lose all on the chance of everlasting love.

"I must admit I am truly enjoying this series! And this book is no exception. Yeah, it's a historical romance, and yeah, it did have a HEA; however, it also was a good story w/ memeorable and relateable characters. I especially liked Avery's character, and watching her ensnare Cameron. I must add that I liked the author's use of humor, and appreciated the few plot twists and turns. I can not wait to read the next book in this series. Oh...and I would recommend this book, and the others to fans of historical romance."

" I love this author and have only been let down very very few times. This story was great, well developed and the characters were not flat, as always. I have grown to LOVE the family so much that I will read all the books, no matter what. I was a little let down by the h, I mean, I do not care how great looking you are or how sexually talented you are or is you are the master seducer, I will not respond to you if you are saying you will take my chastity, use it to force my brother whom I love into a bogus marriage, and use me to shame my family by blackening my name. I found Avery a total contradiction. She seemed so smart and logical with a no nonsense street sense, but was dumb as a box of rocks as soon as she got the slightest bit horny. "

" I read all of Ms Howell's books Back to Back to Back.. while this is a fun series I seriously do not recommend anyone doing so. The plots tend to be repetitious and run together. If you want to enjoy the Murray Clan, take your time.. there is much to enjoy just one at a time. "

" Two families are in a he said/she said fued. Cameron believes his sister is in trouble with Avery's brother. Avery and her cousin Gillyanne are trying to get Cameron to see all isn't as it seems. During their time together she gives him her virginity and they fall in love, but are reluctant to admit it. Avery's brother is found innocent, and Cameron's sister is found to be a liar and is made to wed the one who did get her with child. Good read!! "

" This reads as if it were written by an author who has a computer program which switches English words, such as father, with who knows what language that says fither. Howell only has about 10 - 15 of these words, but manages to use them all on every page. Very distracting. "
