From the #1 Blackboard best-selling author of Cheaters (F0019) comes this story of two couples looking for lasting love. Friends and Lovers is filled with the colorful dialog, vivid characters, and sophistication that have become Dickey's trademarks. Leonard and Tyrel are close buddies, Debra and Shelby are best girlfriends. When Debra meets Leonard, she has just decided to give up the singles game. Any man who wants her will have to want marriage, too. Shelby, on the other hand, is instantly attracted to Tyrel. Eager to be together, they don't want to consider the consequences of their haste. As each pair searches for the key to happiness, they find that the answer will depend on acts of love, not ideals. Sassy and sexy, set against the glittering backdrop of Los Angeles, Friends and Lovers explores all the angles of big-city romance.

"The first time I saw this book, I said that I would hear from someone else if it was worth it. Did folks let me have it. When I decided to give this author (E.J.D.) a chance, I did not know that he would awaken a part of my imagination that had me laugh, get upset, ALMOST shed a tear, and embrace the beautiful complexities of black friendships/relationships. This was the first book of his, that led me to go on and read some of his other works. If you want to have a good time, pick this up and a cup of coffee."
