"Didn't enjoy it as much as Dragonsinger, but it was nice to see Piemur get his own spotlight! The two books weren't exactly plot-spectacular, but I guess she wrote these way after the world of Pern got established. Nice stories, though. (: "

" 4/11 Focused on a secondary character from the first two books in the trilogy. Not quite as good as the first two, but still a fun read! "
— Susan, 4/26/2011" Loved all the McCaffrey Pern novels I read years ago. "
— Ken, 4/11/2011" While I like Piemur, this is not the strongest in this series. It does introduce us to most of the characters that will inhabit the rest of books dealing with this pass of the Red Star. It is interesting how Toric is treated in this book compared to the later ones. "
— Angie, 1/29/2011" If you love dragon books and great characters McCaffrey is your author. These books in my opinion are for adults. The dragons and humans have unmoral habits. "
— Melissa, 1/15/2011" This is my favorite Anne McCaffrey novel "
— Winged_One, 1/12/2011" I think I was 9 years old when I first found this author. I love this book for introducing me to McCaffrey. "
— Zacaro, 12/13/2010" A good book, but I have read better. It is interesting and I love Piemur but it is written in a sort of distant way, with details given in starnge parts. Good to read, not to own I guess... "
— Andrea, 12/10/2010" This also (a) non edifying part(s) "
— Emtems, 10/21/2010" 2005:

This book would have been a waste of my time had I actually read it. It wasn't really that stupid, but I don't feel like I've gained anything from it. Besides having the work day go by slightly faster by being able to listen to any kind of story when I'm there. "
— Krystl, 8/21/2010" Excellent book, very well written. I thought the story line flowed very well. "
— Deanna, 8/13/2010" I liked how this was more of a focus on Piemur...very good! "
