Publisher Description

“[Rollins] will make your toes curl and your free hand clutch the armchair as you speed through the pages.” —Tampa Tribune

“James Rollins knows adventure.” —Chicago Sun Times

A sensational early work from “one of the most inventive storytellers writing today” (Lincoln Child)—the third pulse-pounding adventure novel from perennial New York Times bestselling thrill-master James Rollins—Deep Fathom is an extraordinary story of desperate survival and mysterious discoveries. The acclaimed creator of Sigma Force seamlessly combines action, science, lore, and breathtaking suspense in this classic tale of a lost civilization and a wondrous journey to a beguiling world beneath the sea. Part Michael Crichton, part Douglas Preston, part Indiana Jones, yet completely, exhilaratingly Rollins, Deep Fathom is an undersea roller coaster ride that never slows down from the first page through the explosive climax.

"Love, love, love James Rollins. Deep Fathom is a wild ride. While being one of Mr. Rollin's early books, it shows his ability to depict action, story telling, characters, and trills he is perfecting with each books he writes. This was the second book my late husband and I listened to on our last trip together. Being certified scuba divers, we loved anything dealing with being underwater. This tale of the destruction of the earth and under water was a fun listen"

Quotes

  • “James Rollins is a very refreshing author. I do not even really like books that are classified as thrillers, but I think everyone should read Rollins.”

" Pretty cool sci-fi rendition of solar flares, extinguished species, ancient people and the end of the world sort of. Add a few heros and one main good guy along with the bad guys and the imminent end of the world and a good yarn emerges that pulls somewhat of a surprise ending although in hind sight the clues were all there for the picking up. A good read ESP if you want to be entertained. Would make a good movie. "

" I feel that if I had read this book before all the others I would have liked it more because this was definitely not Rollins' best work. The story line was a bit choppy and unbelievable and some of the characters could have be developed a bit more. But don't get me wrong the story is still very entertaining and fast paced. I would still recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading "Indiana Jones" type books. "

" another exciting read from james Rolllins. Not as much fun as the Sigma Force series in my opinion, but it was nice to get some more back story on Lisa (from The Black Order) and spend some time under sea and exploring missing cites like Atlantis. "

" This read was not so good as his later books; the artful blend of reality/fiction is missing here. It didn't keep me awake at late hours, desperate to know the next dramatic offering. I suppose they can't all be amazing. "

" Very good story. The writing? It suffers in comparison with his later books I'm not certain this one would have made me seek out others of his so I'm glad I read this now while waiting for more. :-) The ending? Uh, naw. "
