Publisher Description

“Gripping…a first-rate nail biter.”

 —Tampa Tribune

James Rollins—the author of The Doomsday Key, The Last Oracle, The Judas Strain, Black Order, and other pulse-pounding, New York Times bestsellers—carries readers into the heart of darkness in his classic thriller, Amazonia. Lincoln Child, New York Times bestselling co-author (with Douglas Preston) of Cemetery Dance and other Agent Pendergast thrillers, raves, “Amazonia grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go until the very last page is turned.”

"A good read, though I was a little disappointed at the predictability of some of the characters. I was only about a quarter of the way through before I could tell how each character would turn out: who would live, who would end up together, who was the mole. However, this was the only disappointment, because it kept the medical side of me guessing as to what the solution (and cause) of the "plague" that was the basis of the book would be. Would definitely recommend it if you enjoy suspense and action."

" I am addicted to James Rollins. From reading my first book of his, Subterranean, I have been a fan. Amazonia is full of mystery, suspense, and action. Wilderness, missing expedition, one armed man appearing with a regrown arm, evil, and fantasy. What happened to the missing team? Buck up for a thrill ride. "

" Fantasy so thick, it actually helps protect you from the fear the author serves up large helpings of in almost every chapter, because you can keep telling yourself, "It's not real. It's not real." "

" I really enjoyed this book. It has a very unique plot and lots of action. I have enjoyed all of his books so far and this one didn't disappoint. If you like Clive Cussler, Steve Berry, or Jeremy Robinson then you will like James Rollins. "

" An early Rollins book that may not be for everybody. Rollins does, occasionally, resort to what I consider sci-fi plots and this is one of those efforts. It's a good thriller but if you're expecting something of the caliber of his Sigma you will be disappointed. "

Indiana Jones, meets Bear Grylls, meets Dr. Moreau. I purchased a few books by the author which I'm very excited to read. "

" I listened to the abridged version of this on cd - not reccommended. The leaps that Rollins takes in the narrative which are pretty fantastical as it is, became even more disjointed when edited down. Plus, not enough character development so didn't really enjoy it. "
