Publisher Description

Ariadne Oliver, Queen of Crime Fiction, has been asked to devise a Murder Hunt for a fête at Nasse House, the home of Sir George Stubbs. But she begins to suspect that someone is manipulating the scenario of her game and fears that something very sinister is being planned. She sends for her old friend Hercule Poirot.

At first, he is not inclined to take her very seriously, but soon a series of events propels him to change his mind. Then suddenly, all Ariadne's worst fears are realised when the girl playing the part of the murder victim is found strangled in the boat-house. For Hercule Poirot, the Murder Hunt has become a grim reality.

A BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation starring John Moffatt as the great Belgian detective, with Julia McKenzie as Ariadne Oliver.

"This Christie is a little different than the regular Poirot's as the case is not solved right away but some time latter. Poirot goes to investigate a case that hasn't happened yet based on Ariadne Oliver's (Agatha Christie's character) "feeling." A good story that's not so straight forward."

" Charming little mystery. Just what I needed to cleanse my palate after reading Sharp Objects. I only wish that Ariadne Oliver and Poirot had interacted together more as they have a strange, yet appealing chemistry. "

" This is the first Agatha Christie novel that I have chosen the murderer correctly. That does not mean that this is an easy one to figure out, or a waste of time. On the contrary, the only thing I got right was the murderer, the rest was a complete surprise, and yet such a simply perfect solution. Christie always gives a good ride, and this one is no exception. I enjoyed it. "

" I didn't like the reveal at the end. It was totally out of left field and uncharacteristic of Agatha. However, I really liked her portrayal of mystery writer Ariadne Oliver; perhaps it was a little salute to herself? "
