New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan has thrilled countless readers with her Dark series. In Dark Secret, Carpathian vampire hunter Rafael De La Cruz must win the heart and soul of willful rancher Colby Jansen before it’s too late.
When her stepfather died five years ago, Colby assumed total responsibility of the family ranch—including her younger step-siblings. Through her determination, hard work, and psychic abilities, she’s been able to keep the ranch going. That is, until her stepfather’s family shows up from Brazil to take custody of Colby’s brother and sister, with the help of the powerful and dangerous De La Cruz brothers. Despite her protests, Colby can’t deny her deep, physical attraction to Rafael. For his part, Rafael is determined to make Colby his lifemate before more sinister forces destroy them both.

"I read this terrible review on Amazon about this book. Funny enough, it convinced me to buy it. I loved the sexuality and the animal dominance of Rafael. Without that, and that's what bothered the reviewer on Amazon, he would have been human. I read this book because I wanted fantasy, not humanity, and Feehan delivered that in Spades. I'm giving it five stars for the sexual heat alone."

" One of the better Carpathian tales. Rafael is more dominant and less accepting of human frailties. A volatile mix with Colby, who is stubborn and independent. Enjoyed the story. "
— Bridget, 1/30/2014" I just couldn't get into this one. I did think it got better towards the end though. "

— Hollymurphy, 1/16/2014" the first one, dark prince was good but i liked this one waaaay better. gotta get used to there only being passion and obsession in the first 200 pages but then it's action with a happy story. "
— Kristina, 1/5/2014" funny,passionate and more on love. =) "
— Andreus, 1/1/2014" Awesome ending and I loved Virkirnoff's return at the end. It was good to see a better fight between Carpathian Hunter and Vampire, instead of a 'no-contest' kind of fight. "
