Holly Krauss lives her life in the fast lane. A successful, happily married businesswoman, she is loved and admired by everyone she meets.

But that's only one side of Holly. The other takes regular walks on the wild side and is making reckless mistakes.

When the two sides of Holly's life collide, her world quickly spirals out of control. She thinks she's being stalked, that someone is trying to extort money from her, and that threats lurk around every corner. Soon the people closest to her are running out of patience...

But are her fears due to paranoia and illness, or is the danger real?

And if Holly's judgment and mental health are not sound, who will catch her when she falls? Download and start listening now!

" I wasted hours of my life reading this book. I feel as though the author could have thickened out the story a bit. It was my first Nicci French read and I wish I could get those hours back! Horrible I tell you! It was all plot after plot no resolution or too quick a resolution. If this was French's debut I would be more understanding but apparently it's the fourth book or something so there really is no excuse for such pathetic writing. I'm sorry to be so harsh but I really hated it. "

" I thought it was a mystery, but it was a story about a manic-depressive and what happened to the lives she touched. Her behavior, before treatment, was appalling. Easy to see why her husband was tired of her. "

" Book club selection. It's not that it wasn't good, but it just wasn't my thing. Holly is one of those massively energetic life & soul of the party kind of people and appears to be burning the candle at both ends. She has a company with her best friend Meg, who's far more sensible and down to earth and ends up being the one who sorts the mess. Initially, I found Holly a very unappealing character. By the end, after a suicide attempt or two, she's come round a bit, but I found her hard to understand - probably as I'm more a Meg than a Holly. Turns into a strange mixture with psycological elements and some mystery solving. Not badly written, but just not something i would choose to read. "
