A one-page tool to reinvent yourself and your career
The global bestseller Business Model Generation introduced a unique visual way to summarize and creatively brainstorm any business or product idea on a single sheet of paper. Business Model You uses the same powerful one-page tool to teach listeners how to draw “personal business models,” which reveal new ways their skills can be adapted to the changing needs of the marketplace to reveal new, more satisfying, career and life possibilities. Produced by the same team that created Business Model Generation, this audiobook is based on the Business Model Canvas methodology, which has quickly emerged as the world’s leading business model description and innovation technique.
This book shows listeners how to:
– Understand business model thinking and diagram their current personal business model
– Understand the value of their skills in the marketplace and define their purpose
– Articulate a vision for change
– Create a new personal business model harmonized with that vision, and most important, test and implement the new model
When you implement the one-page tool from Business Model You, you create a game-changing business model for your life and career.

"I enjoyed this book, but it wasn't as informative as Business Model Generation. It does present some great viewpoints on value from an individual perspective so that one can have a better 'story' to tell. I'll probably update this review after I try out a few of the techniques and create my canvas."

" This book tries to adapt the Business Model Canvas to career planning. I did not find it that helpful. "
— Jerry, 12/29/2013" Not nearly as good as its predecessor, Business Model Generation, this stalwart of the personal business model movement is full of exercises intended to help you understand your own personal brand and business model. I found the exercises intriguing but ultimately did not learn too much. "
— Erik, 12/22/2013" Not as good as the business model generation "
— Tony, 12/14/2013" I am a contributor to this extremely useful book that helps you plan not only your career but your life in many ways. "
— Afroz, 11/18/2013" This is a very useful tool to re-invent ourselves to optimize ourselves in life and in the career you want to build! The step by step evaluation worksheets can help us reflect on our true desire, abilities and values! Worth to read again and again! "
— Chelsea, 11/3/2013" I think it was helpful, but certainly not invaluable. It seems very hot right now, though. Almost every one of my lecturers at Central use it as a tool. "
— Corinne, 10/3/2013" Amazing for this market and the ability to be able to stand out in the interview! "
— Cassidy, 6/26/2013" A must-read book on career development. "
— Lori, 4/28/2013" If you havent read this before just get out of the bed lazybones and get on to this book....a must read. "
— Priyank, 4/28/2013" Good workbook with hands-on instructions on how to create your professional future. "
— Jochen, 2/21/2013" Excellent resource for career and life planning. Throughly enjoyed reading it. Great exercises. "
— Teri, 1/17/2013" What I really like in this book is that is is straightforward with methods of finding out what really motivates you and puts that into describing what you seek for in terms of career options. "
— Roelof, 11/30/2012" Great one page business model. "
— Chris, 11/5/2012" If you have an ipad better Go to businessmodelgeneration.com/toolbox first then Do the book paperless "
— Intan, 7/18/2012" A dull and unnecessary extension to Business Model Generation. Avoid. "
— Ben, 6/23/2012" I will recommend this to job seekers trying to figure out their next career move - particularly those who are trying to figure out what they want to do with their life. "
— Kent, 5/28/2012" PowerPoint version of "What color is your parachute", and not nearly as deep and thought provoking. "
— Mike, 5/14/2012" Not as meaningful as the first book, as this tries too hard to fit a career planning into a "business model". "
