Disease and health, like circumstances, are rooted in thought. Sickly thoughts will express themselves through a sickly body. Thoughts of fear have been known to kill a man as speedily as a bullet, and they are continually killing thousands of people just as surely, though less rapidly. The people who live in fear of disease are the people who get it. Anxiety quickly demoralizes the whole body and lays it open to the entrance of disease, while impure thoughts, even if not physically indulged, will sooner shatter the nervous system.

""As a Man Thinketh" was a very interesting philosophical book. I have to say that I don't completely agree with the author at some points, but interesting thoughts are expressed by James Allen. The book explains that our minds are in charge of our realities, and that what we imagine is what we perceive - making it real. This book is great to read if you're in the mood to think deeply about life and our existence, but it doesn't stop there. It goes over how humans accomplish tasks, change as a person, and the importance of dreams/visions of the future."
