When one tip leads New Jersey policeman Luke Somers to Steven Gallagher, things quickly go wrong, but Luke is instantly glorified for solving the case. But to one man, Luke is no hero. Chris Gallagher raised his brother, Steven, almost single-handedly, and, certain that Steven is innocent, he won’t rest until he sets the record straight. Thanks to Luke’s newfound fame, he’s an easy man to find, and Chris quickly makes it clear that Luke’s own brother will die if Luke refuses to help clear Steven’s name. So begins Luke’s desperate attempt to find another suspect—any other suspect—in Judge Brennan’s death. But Luke’s investigation might open the door to powerful forces even more dangerous than Chris Gallagher.

" Love his books and style and this book was excellent right up to the last page. I loved it! Great author. "
— Debbie, 2/8/2014" I eagerly awaited David Rosenfelt's new release, AIRTIGHT, but was terribly disappointed. It was a laborious read. It was boringly lengthy due to the undeveloped, flat charterers, simple and disingenuous dialogue, and an implausible and confusing storyline. By the middle of the book, I didn't even care who was the antagonist. I kept reading hoping it would redeem itself, but it did not. This book was substandard compared to all of Mr. Rosenfelt's past publications. I miss the author's Andy Carpenter series! "
— Pamela, 2/6/2014" This is the first stand alone book that I thought was okay. The plot of the book was simple and easy to follow. Although I still do like the Andy Carpenter series better than the stand alones. "
— Jill, 1/31/2014" Actually, I would have given this one about 3 1/2 stars. It was good, but nothing exceptional. I enjoyed the characters and the plot was interesting enough. I will read more of these. He is certainly able to keep your attention. "
— Julie, 1/31/2014" I really enjoyed this book. Although I started reading David Rosenfelt's books because I like dogs and enjoy following the stories of Andy Carpenter, I could easily follow his character "Lucas" in Airtight. Loved the ending! Hope he continues to develop this character. "
— Margaret, 1/24/2014" Good suspense, not a lot of character development, which is what I like. Enjoyed the author's clever humor, as always. "
— Alice, 1/19/2014" This novel is a stand-alone about a cop who must rescue his brother by proving that the brother of the kidnapper did not kill a judge; the story moves fast and there is a good twist at the end. "
— Agatha, 1/14/2014" Couldnt keep my attention, didn't actually finish it "
— Jenelle, 1/6/2014" loved this book kept you guessing until the last page "

— Mary, 12/13/2013" Excellent read from David Rosenfelt, but not one of the Andy Carpenter series. Good characters and a fast pace with plenty of twists and turns. "
— Kathy, 12/6/2013" Excellent thriller by one of my favorite authors David Rosenfelt. Like all of his books, Airtight is a real page turner! I read it in a weekend. With lots of twists and turns, you'll be hooked right to the end. "
— Carol, 10/20/2013" A nice departure from the Andy Carpenter series. I thought that the pacing and premise worked very well. The love aspect seemed something of an afterthought but didn't detract from the story. "
— Herzog, 10/14/2013" I love David Rosenfelt. He's one of my favorite authors. He holds the distinction of being one of the only authors who can actually make me laugh out loud. That said, this book was disappointing. I wanted to quit reading it but I made myself finish. "
— Emma, 9/27/2013" I have always preferred Rosenfelt's standalones to his Andy Carpenter series. This is no exception. Short chapters that make you want to keep reading. A race against time and the ending was a great one--good for you Luke! "
— Pam, 9/24/2013" Really great book. David Rosenfelt is my new favorite mystery writer. I especially like his Andy Carpenter series. I love dogs and I really like his sense of humor. If you like mysteries you might want to try him out. "
— Suzanne, 8/11/2013" Loved this book. Really well done. I love Rosenfelt's humor, but he didn't overdue it in this serious thriller. Highly recommend this one off! "
— Kat4553, 8/2/2013" I can usually tell what's going to happen in "these" types of books, but this one really had me going from 1st page to last. Expect the unexpected. Good characters & resolution. "
— Nancy, 6/3/2013" A super fast read. This is edge-of-your-seat stuff. I really enjoyed the pacing and the tension, but the ending is stunning. One of the best last sentences ever. "
— Kate, 5/18/2013" This book was a page turner from the beginning. The characters were believable and likeable, unlike many crime fighting characters. The plot kept me guessing until the very end. I'm sorry it's over and I hope to read more about Lucas Somers. "
