"Pretty good book but a dash too long. In between the good parts ( and i don't mean THAT... although that was pretty good too ) there were a few moments that I just wanted to put the book down and go to sleep. However, since I love Katie MacAlister I finished it and boy was I glad. Fans of Romance that's forbidden for a reason will love this... and if you don't well... Check again. ;)"

“A Girl’s Guide to Vampires is funny, caustic, adventurous, and sexy. Quite a fun-filled combination.”
— RT Book Reviews (4 stars)“Readers will gladly give in to the wickedly sharp bite of MacAlister’s wit in this temptingly toothsome romance. With its superb characterization and writing that manages to be both sexy and humorous, this contemporary paranormal love story is an absolute delight.”
— Booklist" Loved the firey nature of the main femail character and how she interacts with the main male character. I found myself actually laughing out loud. "
— Jenn, 2/16/2014" MacAlister's talent definately lies in the comedic end of the paranormal romance field. Joy's adventures in clowning her way through a new romance and a world where steamy romances about Dark Ones and their Beloveds turn out to be true made for a fun bit of reading and a break from darker paranormal that takes itself too seriously. I'd have rated it higher, but the dialogue tended to get on my nerves, especially Joy's lover using "baby" in every single sentence referring to her. The minor mystery was rather left in the dust of Joy's antics and should have been more in the forefront of things. Kind of like Lucille Ball or Amanda Bynes in a vampire world. "
— S.A., 2/3/2014" I do so love Ms. MacAlister. Another score with this fun book about Vampires. The characters are likable, and she keeps you guessing what is going to happen to the very end. I can't say too much more without spoilers, since this book kind of keeps you guessing. Excellent love scenes, wonderful dialogue, and an excellent setting. On to the next one! "
— ErinReadsTooMuch, 2/3/2014" so cheesey "
— Liz, 1/31/2014" A lot of the dialog was childish and the character of roxy was just utterly obnoxious. It was like listening to a 15 year old who wouldn't shut up! As for Joy....Ugh. As far as heroines go, she is one of the dumbest. Talk about no common sense. I have a personal goal to finish every book I start but this one made It tough to make good on that goal. I literally wanted to reach into the book and strangle someone! "
— Bethanezer, 1/30/2014" This was very easy to read. I loved the characters and the interaction with each other. It was funny, romantic and exciting. "
— Ju, 1/29/2014" Dnf. Min chicks are catty and childish. Plot seems thin and unrealistic. Sad bc I've read other shorts by her and liked them. "
— Alisa, 1/23/2014" I loved this book!Sex and adventure what else could a girl want.I will grab the other books tomorrow morning as soon as the book store opens. "
— April, 1/18/2014" Interesting read, keeps you guessing. Good book. "
— Missyb, 1/6/2014" Wieder ein Vampir-Erotik-Buch. Wie die anderen auch. Man verliert nicht Gehirnzellen dabei, aber neue dazu gewinnen tut man eben auch nicht. "
— Susann, 1/5/2014" I love this book. . . the story was good, but I love the book. Never have I had such naughty thoughts just by looking at a picture. I am in love with the picture on the co er. I am ashamed to say it. I will be keeping this book forever just to stare at the amber eyed man. "
— Frankiea20, 12/20/2013" A bit corny at times, but altogether a good read. "
— Carla, 12/9/2013" I love her Dragon series... hopping this one gets a better. It was not bad, just not to the level I believe her others to be at. "
— Deb8coach, 11/15/2013" I was seriously disappointed. A vampire romance that wasn't! WHY make it seem like it's a vampire romance when, in the end, it isn't! I was so mad and felt cheated! "
— Jamie, 10/19/2013" Not a bad read. A little hard to get into at first and then half way through it start throwing so many twists in it you don't know what to think. "
— Sheena, 10/16/2013" I only gave this book 3 stars because I found it a hard book to get into, but I stuck with it and I am glad I did. The book if funny and I really enjoyed it, the books get better as you continue in the series. "
— Megan, 8/2/2013" This book was slow at the begining but then once Joy met up with Raphel and Christian it was great and it was funny like laugh out loud funny. "
— Dawn, 8/2/2013" A fun read, well written. The characters are well formed and it's a very light read. A good change from the overly dramatic. "
— Sally, 7/5/2013" wishing i could give 4.5/5 stars. This book was interesting, hilarious, dramtic, weirdly sexual and strangley teenagey. With a major twist of paranormal. "
— *~*♥Bron♥*~*, 6/13/2013" Fun, quarky humor and vampires...what more could you ask from MacAlister? A little slow to start and a little predictable but fun to read. I am sure the series will pick up the pace in the next novel. I love the sarcasim between the two friends, and of course the vampire. "
