Iolanthe Tennyson has had a very bad year—due in part to the very bad men in her life—so she’s accepted her cousin’s invitation to spend the summer in Austria to indulge her photography hobby. Rumors of a haunted forest there draw Iolanthe into the dark woods—and into the eighteenth century.

Nikola Czerny is a cursed man, forced by his half brothers to live forever as a Dark One. But his miserable existence takes an intriguing turn when a strange, babbling woman is thrown in his path. Iolanthe claims to know Nikola’s daughter—three hundred years in the future. She also knows what fate—in the form of his murderous half brothers—has in store for him. If only she knew the consequences of changing the past to save one good, impossibly sexy vampire.

" Funny dialogue, both external and internal. Not as good as some of the other books in the series. Good light and amusing read. "

" A fun read. It had all of Katie MacAlister's trademarks - hot hero, snarky heroine, and funny situations. It is my favorite Dark Ones novel since the early ones. It was a 5 star read until the end. The ending was just too rushed for me. I would recommend it to anyone who likes their paranormal romance on the funny side. "

" Charmingly little paranormal romance with a little mystery. Pretty much anything this writer has written has been great. This novel features Io and has a bit of a time traveling adventure with a new Dark One. . . "

" I have to admit I found Nikola a little sillier than I expected from a Dark One, but I guess it works since he wasn't deep into their society. I enjoyed Io and her consonant-less name and it was sure fun to get a little more Fran and Benedikt. I hope we get an Imogene and her ghost story. "
