Publisher Description

Regan Reilly is in New York to attend a crime conference organized by her celebrity-author mother. A friend, Thomas Pilsner -- the frenetic president of the Settlers' Club on Gramercy Park -- calls Regan, desperately pleading for help. Thomas is distraught over the sudden suspicious deaths of two members of the Settler's Club. The men had promised to donate a cache of valuable diamonds to save the Club. But now the diamonds re gone, the men are dead, and Thomas is a mess. He fears the police will suspect he is at the heart of both mysteries, and worse yet, he'll lose his job.

Enter Regan. Who better than the star of Decked, Snagged, Iced, and Twanged to solve the mystery of the missing diamonds and the suspicious deaths? Who better to contend with quirky characterslike Lydia Sevatura, the self-styled "Princess of Love" who operates a dating service and her butler, Maldwin Feckles, who has just opened up the first school of butlering in New York City? And who better than Carol Higgins Clark whose sparkling, canny prose keeps listeners guessing to the end "who done it"?

Fleeced is a witty pportrait of modern urban life, and proves once again that Carol Higgins Clark is a uniquely talented writer.

"Fleeced was the first book that I have read by Carol Higgins Clark, and I must say that I had trouble putting it down. I had watched the tv movie Deck the Halls with the Regan Reilly character and enjoyed it so I decided to try one of the books. Luckily this book takes place soon after Deck the Halls so I was able to dive right in. Clark's Regan Reilly is a great leading character, and I thought she made a great lead detective. The mystery of the missing diamonds and the murder of their owner was good, and the many adventures that happened throughout the book as Regan tried to solve this mystery kept me turning the pages. I really like Clark's writing style because it was easy to read and the action moved very quickly. Overall this was a great read, and I look forward to reading another Regan Reilly adventure."

" I have never read a book of carol's before and it was really lame. It was a very easy, very short read, but it wasn't even interesting! I do not plan on reading another book of hers. "

" I have enjoyed all of the books in the Regan Reilly series. This one, like the others, had a good plot and kept me guessing. This series always has such quirky characters, you never know who is involved in the crime & who might just be plain strange. "

" This is a light read with short chapters. I enjoyed it even more than the first Regan Reilly mystery I read. Clark does a nice job with setting and character development, even making the recently murdered an interesting character. "

" Regan Reilly is in New York to visit a convention her mother is at and to see her boyfriend. A friend of hers who is the manager of the Settlers Club asks for Regans help. Two of the members of the club have mysteriously died and the diamonds they were going to donate to the club have disappeared. An okay mystery but the booked flicked aroudn too much between characters. I'd rather it just stay focused on Regan "
