"City of Lost Souls - The Mortal Instruments (Book Five) by Cassandra Clare was in a word EPIC! Yet again Cassandra Clare has created another stunning addition to this excellent fantasy adventure series. We continue to be thrust even deeper into the world of Clarissa Fray, Shadowhunter. After a very climactic ending to City of Fallen Angels, we pick right back up and must find out hat has happened to Jace. He has mysteriously disappeared and the search is on. City of Fallen Souls is filled with lots of secrets, hidden truths, betrayal, regret, love, loss, and redemption. All these elements combined with the captivating writing and intrigue makes this novel a non-stop read. A total page-turner with surprises and twists at every turn. THE WAR IS COMING! I'm not sure when but I can only guess that the next novel will bring about some events that will change history forever!"

" This is the 5th book in the series and now there was another issue that keeps Jace and Clary apart. This one was really well written she just draws you in and it is like you are right there. Jace got taken at the end of the last book and now they must find him. Clary is at the lead and Alex, Simon, and Isabel are right on her heals to help. Clary finds a way to find him and leaves everyone behind. She gets swept up in the moments at times but she will save Jace and she does in the end. Cant wait to see where the story will take me next. " It was okay. I feel like this series is being stretched out beyond what was necessary at this point. I had a hard time slogging through books four and five as opposed to the first three. I will read the conclusion books to learn the outcome, but they are becoming a bit redundant. "
