" For an educated TV Reporter, Ali Reynolds sure is stupid. This character must have been just a "Talking Head" not actually investigating anything in her former job. She takes crazy chances, acts so naive and trusting for a woman of her age and experience. Totally not believable. I was so disgusted with this character that I'm not sure that I will continue reading this series. "

" This is the second in Jance's "Ali Reynolds" series and takes place in Los Angeles after Ali's soon to be ex-husband is found murdered. I read an online review that called this story "uninspired" and described the plot developments as "clumsy," and to be honest, I think that reviewer was being kind. Ali Reynolds is the least like-able of all Jance's protagonists. There really is no reason to read this one. "
