The end of her high-profile broadcasting career came too soon for TV journalist Alison Reynolds—bounced off the air by executives who wanted a "younger face." With a divorce from her cheating husband of ten years also pending, there is nothing keeping her in L.A. any longer. Cut loose from her moorings, Ali is summoned back home to Sedona, Arizona, by the death of a childhood friend. Once there she seeks solace in the comforting rhythms of her parents' diner, the Sugarloaf Café, and launches an on-line blog as therapy for others who have been similarly cut loose.

But when threatening posts begin appearing, Ali finds out that running a blog is far more up-close and personal than sitting behind a news desk. And far more dangerous. Suddenly something dark and deadly is swirling around her life . . . and a killer may be hunting her next.

" I do not find Ali as charming as J.P. or Joanna but her books are still an easy fun read. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Tara | 2/10/2014

" I have found a new suspense/thriller author to enjoy! I liked that the main character was very current with her surfing of the Internet and blogging. There were a lot of twists and turns, and by the end I was ready for a resolution to the story, but overall very enjoyable. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Sharon | 2/1/2014

" My husband had to really encourage me to read this book, because he was reading the books by J.A. Jance, and I thought they were books for guys. When I began to read this book, it grabbed me right away. It does have some suspense in it, but it also has romance and just real people. I liked it very much, except for the ending. It just kind of drifts off, and didn't end the way I expected. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Denise | 1/28/2014

" Pretty good, but not as good as the Joanna Brady series by Jance. I would definitely try another of her Ali Reynolds series now that I have read this one. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Rose Walker | 1/25/2014

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Terri | 1/16/2014

" It was alright. It seemed to be lacking depth and I figured out "whodunit" early on in the book. It didn't really keep me guessing. "

" Okay - this book had some good parts but didn't have much of a plot and wasn't particularly well written. If you're looking for a good thriller/suspense novel, you can do better than this. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Debi | 10/13/2013

" I loved the way Ali handled her job lose and husband both to younger women..not the same woman. And the death of her best friend from childhood and a nut case trying to kill her because of something she writes on her blog.....the rest is up to you..smiles. "

" Just love to read J. A. Jance books. Her story telling style is direct and although I can usually figure "who dun" it, sometimes she fools me. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Mark | 7/20/2013

" Though not quite what I expected, I did get caught up in the story. The internet element adds a lot on many different levels. The author has a real gift for instantly accessible characters, action and dialogue. The whodunit at the story's center was also a pleasant surprise. "
