“Vampire P.I. Felix Gomez is irresistibly entertaining”—Rick Riordan, Edgar Award–winning author of Mission Road
Rollickingly funny, bitingly sarcastic, X-Rated Bloodsuckers is the sharp, hilarious follow-up to Mario’s acclaimed debut, The Nymphos of Rocky Flats.
Felix Gomex has survived Operation Desert Freedom, being turned into a vampire, and a ravenous horde of nymphomaniacs. Now, he faces his toughest investigation when he’s hired to infiltrate the corrupt world of Los Angeles politics and investigate the murder of a distinguished young surgeon turned porn star. The search pits Felix against renegade vampires conspiring with humans in a scheme that would forever alter the supernatural world and cause the extermination of the undead.

"If you judge a book by its cover, this one would have won the I won't read award. However, this is a delightful vampire book that is focused on Los Angeles. Absolutely geared to walk the native through local haunts and new ideas. Good summer read."

“Vampire P.I. Felix Gomez is irresistibly entertaining.”
— Rick Riordan, Edgar Award–winning author of Mission Road" Continuation. I really like the Chicano twist to the typical urban fantasy. The main character is likeable, too. Definitely recommend this series. "
— Emily, 2/18/2014" I admit a secret enjoyment of vampire stories. This one's ok--it's a quick, enjoyable read but not too memorable. It's actually a sequel but I haven't read the first one. It has some nice points (sun blocking makeup so the vamps can go out in daylight, national network of vampires) but it's basically a cheesy vampire novel. It would make a good beach read. "
— Sandy, 2/6/2014" After two books, I still find Acevedo's writing style choppy, but I like Felix Gomez enough to keep reading. "
— Robin, 1/29/2014" Enjoyed it. It's nice to see a vampire PI that's actually trying to hide it from the world. "
— Jp, 1/5/2014" Also not as trashy as it sounds, but a good solid private-detective story with bonus supernatural politics. I like this guy. "
— Jeremy, 12/29/2013" good stronger than his first great "dont forget to read my next book" ending "
— Emily, 12/27/2013" I thought the first book was better. But I'm moving on to third, we'll see how it goes. "
— Jen, 12/21/2013" Sequil to Nymphos Of Rocky Flats, the continuing saga of a vampire PI. The hero has worked through his angst of the first book. Lots of action, interesting cast of characters, and the plot wraps up nicely without much help from the hero. Good reading but not a keeper. "
— Denni, 11/28/2013" Funny and easy to read. Not a lot of depth. Don't expect it to be anything like an Anita Blake adventure. "
— Melissa, 11/23/2013" Cool sequel. These are not your normal vampires. Don't let his titles push you away. I liked the change Mario puts into this series. Sure it's not rocket science, but then we are talking about vampires. "
— Craig, 10/6/2013" Really good. I enjoyed this series. Felix cracks me up with his dry wit! I love his friends as well!! Loved Coyote and hope to see more of him in the future! Don't let the titles scare you these are not sex books! "
— April, 9/29/2013" it was a cute book. it linked two things i like. beans and vampires. muhahaha! "
— Yasmin, 8/14/2013" This is a quick read - despite being a bit embarrased at the barnes and nobel for picking up all of Mario Acevedo's books - its pretty good so far. It's a really fun, quick read. Not as X-rated so far as you'd think by the title! "
— Lori, 6/21/2013" Though no closer to understanding why I like this author, I bought the second in the series. I still like it. A lot. Maybe I'm odder than I thought. "
— Theresa, 9/30/2012" This book got overtaken by more interesting books but I was able to finish it off. Full Review => X-Rated Bloodsuckers Review. "
— Leon, 7/26/2012" A clear improvement over the first novel, with more details on the structure and culture of the supernatural world. The Publisher's Weekly review of it on Amazon.com was dead-on. "
— John, 7/25/2012" Another funny, yet intriguing vampire mystery from Mario. After meeting Mario last summer, I now see where he mines some of his material. Excellent! "
— Carol, 7/6/2012" I like Mario Acevedo's way of writing. A bit of wry humor there. Definitely unusual characters. Hard to put down. "
— Al, 12/3/2011" A solid story. The mystery was well done. Bit of a slow start but the second half made up for it. Interesting new vampire world and an actual mystery. I was happy 3.5/5 stars "
— Katie, 10/19/2011" Book #2 in this vampire series. Acevedo brings his own background and experience to the novels and gives us a unique view and a new spin on the "monsters". "
— Vikki, 7/17/2011" Audio. Good follow up story from the first and leads into the next nicely too. "
— Kim, 5/22/2011" I'll check out his next book. It wasn't as good as The Nymphos of Rocky Flats but it provided a good PI noir vibe as well as a look into the vampire mythos Acevedo creates. "
— Dustin, 4/12/2011" Of course a book written by a MALE author is centered around the porn industry and is full of cliches. The only reason I finished this was because I needed an "X" for my A-Z title challenge. Then I realized I paid $9.99 for this book. OMG Just shoot me! "
— Ann, 3/27/2011" I really didn't like this. It was the 2nd in the series. I wasn't thrilled about the first one, but thought I'd give the series another shot. It was just a bit ridiculous. I'm not going to continue the series. "
— cassie, 3/14/2011" I really love Felix Gomez....nothing like a badass vamp detective who still shows his "human" side, no matter how much he fights against having one. "
— KarmaKittie, 3/11/2011" 2.5 stars. I just kept thinking, "why would he do that"? Nothing the main character made any sense to me. "
— Meghan, 10/8/2010" So far this is a very entertaining series! "
— Michele, 9/6/2010" I didn't like this book at all. I couldn't finish it. "
— Alison, 6/28/2010" Felix Gomez, vampire private detective, investigates the murder of a porn star and a vampire-human alliance. Well, it ain't gonna win any awards for literature but it's a decent waste of a few hours. "
— Jo, 3/27/2010" I loved this, well written and funny. I have both the e-book and the audio book. "
— Penny, 3/26/2010" Audio. Good follow up story from the first and leads into the next nicely too. <br/> "
