"Another great book in the prey series! Looking forward to the next in the series! I really like Sandford's writing. He weaves wonderful tales and you wonder how he will unravel them. Keeps you guessing who the killer is and how Lucas will catch them! It was hard to put the book down!"

“A compelling vitality suffuses this novel, arguably the finest in a sterling quintet.”
— Publishers Weekly“Crackling action, a clever mystery, and characters who breathe make this great fun: one of the best Preys yet and a must for thriller fans.”
— Kirkus Reviews" Even on vacation, Lucas cannot avoid being drawn into a complex, puzzling murder case. This is another excellent thrill ride with Lucas hunting killers. "
— loveagoodthriller, 5/3/2016" I've read every book John Sandford has written. I buy them in hard cover because once I know he has a new one out I cannot wait for the paperback. Davenport, Flowers and Kidd are some of the most memorable antagonists you'll ever meet. "
— Cammie, 2/2/2014" This book is a murder mystery during the middle of winter. It was a thriller and kept me wondering how things would work out or how did 'this' happen or what will the killer do to get out of 'that'. I don't read this type of book often but this one I picked up when I saw it was set in Hayward, WI. It kept me wanting to continue the story to the end and I would give it a 'thumbs up' to those who like murder thrillers. "
— Edbdme2, 1/23/2014" my favorite of the Prey books so far! "
— Jill, 1/22/2014" Lucas always manages to get a decent woman. Thinking on it, all the women are the same; strong, kind, sexual, witty, great sense of humor. Now if they can stop being hurt or killed around him he may be able to hold on to one. "
— Robert, 1/18/2014" Another good one in this series. "
— Laura, 1/17/2014" This was another audio book I listened to on a road trip. It was a good gripping story but about an hour too long. Also Sanford's earlier work were more gritty. I can't recommend it because it is about sexual child abuse. "
— Cathy, 1/9/2014" Again,it's a prey book,and you can't go wrong! "

— Jeanne, 7/10/2013" For me this was the most disturbing of the Prey series. I loved it, though. "
— Pete, 6/8/2013" Ummm...not much I can really say except I did not like this Authors writing style and the characters were bland and I did not care for this book at all...I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. "
