"I thought about this book a long time after I read it. A paranormal romance story set in contemporary times of a writer, Ford who has a difficult past with lots of family problems marries the love of his life and when she dies he falls apart. The novel is structured with a chapter in the voice of different characters which makes it interesting. I am a fan of Deveraux it amazes me how she writes this crazy stories filled with lovable characters but this one was a bit Twilight Zoneish with a devil as one of the characters. Check it and stay open minded about this- it surprised me how it all ended!"

— Kayla, 2/18/2014" Very interesting storyline. Different than most Jude Deveraux books, but I enjoyed it. The main characters are both likeable, and the side characters are all entertaining. I would probably read it again( I've already read it twice). "

— Beth, 1/17/2014" This book wasn't bad until the ending. Weird! "
— ReneeB, 1/10/2014" I loved the begining. It took a werid turn. I did not forsee all the devil stuff coming on. Love story took too long for me. "
— Kerrymarie75, 1/6/2014" a lil different from what i would normally read but i liked the story line, and it kept my attention "

— Suzanne, 12/21/2013" Great book, it's not very predictable, and Jude is a very good writer who gives good perspective from many different character angles! Also, the ending was AMAZING! It starts out slow, but once it picks up, you are thrown for a look every which way. Such a good book, I recommend! "

— Lavada, 9/16/2013" Don't let the title put you off. An enjoyable read. "
— Dionne, 8/30/2013" Bleh. I'm sorry I actually read the whole thing. The whole he said/she said is so contrived, knew the ending half way through. I thought the author might throw a surprise in there. If that's her idea of a surprise... "
— Iris, 8/14/2013" I love Jude Deveraux. She's "classified" as a "romance" writer, but this isn't the trashy, Harlequin crap. There's always a bit of love in her books, but there's also a heaping pile of story. This is one of the most original stories I have ever read. I CAN NOT put it down. "
— Leira, 6/15/2013" I really enjoyed this book. The story was kind of odd, most definitely not your run-of-the-mill romance novel, but it was fun and interesting. It wound up a little to neatly, but had an odd sort of twist at the end that I kinda liked. It was basically just a fun little read. "
— Julie, 6/14/2013" a woman falls in love with the devil "
— Theletter12, 6/9/2013" Wow! What an unexpected story. I expected the "normal" romance and ended up with a book about the devil. And it was really good. It even gave me a few shivers. I highly recommend this book! "
— Shannon, 4/21/2013" My first book by Deveraux...interesting enough to make me look for other good ones by her, but seems this was the one I really enjoyed most. "
