Publisher Description

Wild at Heart helped men get their hearts back.  Waking the Dead will help us all find the life Christ promised.  Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” That’s the offer of Christianity, from God himself. Just look at what happens when people are touched by Jesus—the blind see, the lame walk, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life. In other words, to be touched by God is to be restored. To become all God meant you to be. That is what Christianity is supposed to do for you—make you whole, set you free, bring you fully alive. But Jesus also warned that the path to that life is narrow, and few people would find it. You’ll notice few have. Waking the Dead will help you find that life, see the fierce battle over your heart, and embrace all that God has for you. There is so much more. Do you want it?

"John and his wife, Stasi wrote this book together and share some personal stories and spiritual insights from their ministry that made me say, "Right, that's what's REALLY been going on." This book re-kindled my desire, period. It also stirred in me to pray for my husband to really discover and live out of his heart. So many of us aren't and this book helps you understand why and wonder what the world would be like if more of us were living fully from fully alive hearts. Easy to read, though I found the prayers at the end too lengthy and impersonal for me to use on a daily basis, though that's exactly why they were included. Another enlightening book by the Eldredges."

  • “A Christian teacher with the Focus on the Family Institute and the author of Wild at Heart, Eldredge uses his broad knowledge of the Bible, mythology, and modern Christian writing to make his point: Conflicts and challenges in this world will put us to sleep if we don’t pay close attention to them.”

" John Eldredge does an incredible job at communicating how we can reach that narrow road of life that Jesus tells us is available to everyone who wants it. If you think that there has to be more to life than what we experience day to day, you should definitely read this book. "

" I listened to the book of cassette, I was very interesting and very non-denominational. I liked it that he included many well know saints and their writings and he spoke of the importance of doing spiritual warfare for your spouse and in many other areas of your life. I spoke of the need for men to become valiant princes again and women to be treated as princesses. "

" Good challenging book. However, when I finished the book I can't really summarize the author's main points. As I read I was inspired, but then in the end I wasn't sure what John Eldredge really wanted his readers to do. Maybe his ideas are too idealistic. Don't really know. "
