Publisher Description

Life, for most of us, feels like a movie we’ve arrived to forty minutes late.

Sure, good things happen, sometimes beautiful things. But tragic things happen too. What does it mean? We find ourselves in the middle of a story that is sometimes wonderful, sometimes awful, usually a confusing mixture of both, and we haven’t a clue how to make sense of it all. No wonder we keep losing heart.

We need to know the rest of the story.

For when we were born, we were born into the midst of a great story begun before the dawn of time. A story of adventure, of risk and loss, heroism...and betrayal. A story where good is warring against evil, danger lurks around every corner, and glorious deeds wait to be done. Think of all those stories you’ve ever loved—there’s a reason they stirred your heart. They’ve been trying to tell you about the true Epic ever since you were young.

There is a larger story. And you have a crucial role to play.

"I like how the book related scripture with everyday, familiar, things. Even relating it to some of the more memorable movies I have seen. It made me think about how I need to focus on looking at what is there every day and realizing the purpose of it all. "

" I thought it was a good short story/book. Rich had wanted to leave it on the train after he finished reading it, but I convinced him to let me read it first. It's a good book for a new or non-Christian. "

" Eldredge suggests that the reason we are inspirired by epic stories such as Star Wars, The Matrix, and Lord of the Rings is because God has a plan for our life to live like a hero for him, or something like that. I was unconvinced. This book was cheesy. "

" Not brilliant or 100% original, but interesting nonetheless. The longer I have been a Christian, the more I can see that our human desire for story reflects this greater "story behind the story." A good, concise little book, if not amazingly well-written. "
