Would you sacrifice your future... for an uncertain past? Gabriella and Evangelia Betarrini are just two normal American teenagers. Normal—except for the fact that they time travel to fourteenth-century Italy, where they’ve lived in castles, become swept up in historic battles, and fallen in love with handsome knights willing to do anything to keep them alive. They’ve returned with their mother to the present to save their father before his tragic death, and now the family travels back to the place that holds the girls’ hearts: medieval Italy. But remaining there means facing great risk as the battle for territory wages on and the Black Plague looms. Will the Betarrinis truly be willing to risk it all? Or in facing death head-on, will they discover life as it was always meant to be lived?

"A fitting end to a great series. Lots of action, history seamlessly mixed in, romance--a great blend. There were a few times when I got a little tired of Gabi running straight for danger, but that's a common problem with any action book or else there's no action. As I've noted before, I was not a fan of the vernacular/slang in the narration -- it kinda got on my freakin' nerves, you know? The last book was a little more heavily Christian in tone, which is not my cup of tea, but it was not overt or frequent enough to put me off."

" Another great book in this series. "
— JaNise, 2/8/2014" Better than last book. More character interaction than last book. Felt less like a Pirates of the Caribbean movie--run from fight scene to improbable escape scene with no chance to understand the people. "
— L, 1/11/2014" Absolutely amazing!!! A great ending and super literacy for teens!! Can't wait for the next one!!! "
— Sunshine, 12/29/2013" Pretty action packed to the very end. Although, I did feel there should have been one more chapter to wrap things up. If you liked the first two books, you will definitely like this one. It has been a great escape reading the whole main series over the past few days. I wonder what book 3.1 holds? "
— Sherry, 11/29/2013" So, so, so good! So, sad to see it end! "
— Micalea, 11/23/2013" This book seemed to move slowly for me at first and I became a bit restless, but this book "pulled it out of the bag" and did not disappoint. I am looking forward to book 4. "
— Patricia, 7/31/2013" Fun romance with time travel and history for teen girls. I found it very enjoyable:) "

— Livelyreader, 12/15/2012" Yaaaaay, it was goooood. I want the next one, if there is one, there BETTER BE ONE. "
— Nicole, 9/4/2012" I repeat...how much can one person take? There's a lot to deal with in the 1300's. "
— Diane, 8/10/2012" Oh, what a great book, it had a great ending to the series, and there was a lot of great parts, and yeah, just loved it! "
