Miss Marple is told that her old friend, Carrie, is in danger and she goes to stay with her at Stoneygates, a home for maladjusted adolescents.
While she is there, tragedy strikes as Carrie's step-son, Christian Gulbrandsen, is shot dead. There are at least seven suspects and two more murders follow. But the man with the obvious motive has a cast-iron alibi, as he could hardly be in two places at once - or could he?
June Whitfield once again stars as the indomitable amateur detective.

"Another great Miss Marple mystery. I was up until almost one a.m. because I had to find out who did it! I had my suspicions, but it's so fun to read how Miss Marple figures it all out. She is a favorite heroine--unassuming and easily underestimated but really shrewd, pleasant, and capable." — Reina (4 out of 5 stars)

" Deliciously fun, diabolical and an almost dizzying array of potential murders makes They Do It With Mirrors a must read Miss Marple mystery. "
" Great story, and well written. I figured out the mystery early on, but with each chapter I read, I kept questioning and questioning what I knew. Real page turner. "
" The splendid James Goss puts it best by saying "It just goes CLANG and [Christie] almost never does that." Having been on an Agatha Christie binge of late I can safely say this is the first slight stinker. The methodology is too obvious and everything that should be dramatic about the denouement is told to the reader almost as an afterthought. Stylistically poor and whatever her detractors say I personally think that unusual of her. "
" Fast moving, short, good books. "
" I'm a big A.C. fan, particularly of Miss Marple mysteries. This is a good one, with an unexpected solution, but not one of Miss Marple's best, in my opinion. "
" It's been almost forever since I'd read this book. I loved it this time as much as I did before. Agatha Christie wrote the best mysteries, short but with enough complexity to be interesting. "
" Is it worth commenting?! A truly breathtaking one! Christie is fabulous! "
" I think seeing the TV version of this ruined it for me but it isn't as gripping or interesting as some of the others. "
" The best yet of the Christie books I have read. I think I will now switch to another main character of hers to see if might like her writing better. "
" A lot of characters and confusing relationships. Clues were almost too obvious. Not one of Christie's better mysteries. "
" Enjoyed reading this "fun" mystery along with my daughter. "
" The murder was obvious from the beginning. I don't like that. "
" buku agatha christi yang pertama kali aku baca dengan karakter miss marple yg ajaib... tp aku lebih suka hercule poirot sih.. "
" I know I said I loved all the Miss Marples, but I forgot about this one. "
" Not the best Christie mystery, but not bad. A somewhat darker view of humanity oozes through. Seems to be making a lot of comments on her own experiences of married life. "
" My least favorite Miss Marple. "
" Miss Marple is awesome and some of the supporting characters aren't terrible either, but the mystery was pretty dull and that's a rather large sin for a mystery novel. "
" Unlike a lot of Christies I saw the solution for this one some time in advance. I didn't enjoy it as much as others; I think the characters didn't read particularly true - but this may gave been a device to reference the stage/magician feel of the novel. "
" With her usual perceptive listening, watching, and analyzing, Miss Marple sees the room as a theater. The audience gets distracted; the deadly deed is done. The ending was less satisfying than other Christie novels. "
" buku pertama yang memperkenalkan saya dengan Ibu Agatha Christie. Dan saya baca ketika saya masih SD. jadi belum begitu tersambung dengan pemikiran dalam buku ini... hehe... tapi ternyata makin menjerumuskan saya membaca buku-buku lain pengarang ini... "
" Wow. I love Agatha Christie, but this takes the cake. Wonderful story and character development, and such a wonderful twist at the end! Great book. "
" As soon as the murder was committed, I knew who'd done it. This made me feel pretty good about myself. Not as much love for the book, though. "
" Easy read, quite entertaining in a twee, old fashioned way, though guessed the "who dunnit" quite quickly, beating Miss Marple by many pages! "
" Good, but the ending comes so suddenly. "
" these books are fun to read.A decent mystery. "
" Excellent puzzle, silly dialogue, tiresome xenophobia. "
" Not bad, but loses steam at the end. "
" Read this LOOOONG time ago, maybe 11 years or so. But I remember it being amazing :) "
