Publisher Description

Miss Marple is told that her old friend, Carrie, is in danger and she goes to stay with her at Stoneygates, a home for maladjusted adolescents.

While she is there, tragedy strikes as Carrie's step-son, Christian Gulbrandsen, is shot dead. There are at least seven suspects and two more murders follow. But the man with the obvious motive has a cast-iron alibi, as he could hardly be in two places at once - or could he?

June Whitfield once again stars as the indomitable amateur detective.

"Another great Miss Marple mystery. I was up until almost one a.m. because I had to find out who did it! I had my suspicions, but it's so fun to read how Miss Marple figures it all out. She is a favorite heroine--unassuming and easily underestimated but really shrewd, pleasant, and capable."

" Deliciously fun, diabolical and an almost dizzying array of potential murders makes They Do It With Mirrors a must read Miss Marple mystery. "

" The splendid James Goss puts it best by saying "It just goes CLANG and [Christie] almost never does that." Having been on an Agatha Christie binge of late I can safely say this is the first slight stinker. The methodology is too obvious and everything that should be dramatic about the denouement is told to the reader almost as an afterthought. Stylistically poor and whatever her detractors say I personally think that unusual of her. "

" I'm a big A.C. fan, particularly of Miss Marple mysteries. This is a good one, with an unexpected solution, but not one of Miss Marple's best, in my opinion. "

" Unlike a lot of Christies I saw the solution for this one some time in advance. I didn't enjoy it as much as others; I think the characters didn't read particularly true - but this may gave been a device to reference the stage/magician feel of the novel. "
