Author Agatha Christie

Dame Agatha Christie (1890–1976) was a British crime writer best known for her detective novels and short stories. According to Guinness World Records, she is the best-selling novelist of all time, her novels having sold over four billion copies and having been translated into more than one hundred languages. The Agatha Award for best mystery and crime writers was named in her honor.

About the Narrators

Hugh Fraser is an English actor and theater director who is best known for his portrayal of Captain Hastings in the television series Agatha Christie’s Poirot. He studied acting at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and is currently an associate tutor, director, and member of the audition panel at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, specializing in Shakespeare. 

Joan Hickson (1906–1998) was an actress who appeared on stage in several plays and in over seventy films. She is best known for playing Miss Marple in the BBC television series, a role that was encouraged by Agatha Christie, who wrote, “ hope you will play my dear Miss Marple” after seeing Hickson in Christie’s Appointment with Death.

David Suchet may be most familiar to listeners from his role as Inspector Poirot, originally on PBS TV’s Mystery! and now on A&E. He has also appeared on Broadway in Amadeus, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (for which he won Best Actor, Critic’s Circle Award), Oleanna (Best Actor, Royal Variety Club), and Timon of Athens (Best Actor, Evening Standard Award). He has numerous film and television credits to his name.

Isla Blair is an India-born actress of British descent. She made her first stage appearance in 1963 as Philia in the London debut of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and her first credited film appearance in the 1965 horror film Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors.

Simon Vance (a.k.a. Robert Whitfield) is an award-winning actor and an AudioFile Golden Voice with fifty-eight Earphones Awards. He has won thirteen prestigious Audie Awards and was Booklist’s very first Voice of Choice in 2008. He has narrated more than eight hundred audiobooks over almost thirty years, beginning when he was a radio newsreader for the BBC in London.
