President Jesse Wood has a mission for Christian Gillette: post-Communist Cuba. There are secret negotiations going on with senior capitalists in Cuba concerning the US and the President wants Gillette to handle it, but is clear that if the discussions ever came to light, the trail cannot lead back to the Oval Office. Seeing no option but to accept the dangerous mission, Gillette heads to Florida with best friend and bodyguard, Quentin Stiles, leaving his capable and alluring protege Allison Wallace in charge of Everest. Though they are soon a thousand miles apart, it turns out they are both in grave danger—and now they aren’t around to help each other survive.
