She’s stuck with Jack.…
Lorraine Dancy has just discovered that everything she believes about her father is a lie—starting with the fact that Thomas supposedly died years ago. Now she’s learned that not only is he not dead, he’s living in a small town south of the border. In the process of tracking him down, she manages to get framed for theft and pursued by the real thief, the police, and a local crime boss. Her father’s friend Jack Keller agrees to help her escape, although Lorraine’s reluctant to depend on a man like him.
And he’s stuck with her!
Jack’s every bit the renegade Lorraine thinks he is—an ex-mercenary and former Deliverance Company operative. He’s also the one person who can guide her to safety. But there are stormy waters ahead, including an attraction neither of them wants to feel. An attraction that’s as risky as it is intense—for both of them. The sooner he can get Lorraine home, the better!

"Started this book last night because I couldn't sleep. Ended up staying awake until I finished it. It held my attention to see what happened next in this romantic mystery. There were a few moments that I wondered what else could possibly happen to these characters. Really a fast, east, great read!"

" Yet another renamed, repackaged old book. My copy is called "The Sooner, the Better." So far, enjoyable tho. "
— Janis, 2/15/2014" Romance novel to read on the plane - It's an interesting twist on the 'good' girl & 'bad' guy. Held my attention more that the last book I read of hers. "
— Kathy, 2/7/2014" The book I read was titled "The Sooner the Better." I started reading it and the book was interesting for awhile and then it got really really trite and though the plot could have been good thee was no mystery to it at all and I skipped through quite quickly just to see how it ended. "
— Sherry, 2/7/2014" Quick read with just the right amount of romance and suspence. "
— Allison, 1/30/2014" This book was very similair in some aspects to it's predecessor "Sooner or Later" but this one was more in line with the Debbie Macomber books that I have read. I enjoyed the book and enjoyed the new dynamic of Mexico and being chased by a psycho path and another psycho path but with two different agendas. I did get a good laugh about pulling the dock with her. That was pretty funny. "
— Tiffany, 1/24/2014" The book was pretty predictable but had a surprised ending. "
— Ethel, 1/11/2014" I don't know if I was listening to an abridged BOT, but this was very sad. "
— Slone, 1/3/2014" chick lit. not entirely clean (sex) tv-14 "
— T, 1/2/2014" Pure Braincandy, but a lot of fun, macho men, strong women, some humor and adventure, fun!! "
— Moey17, 12/30/2013" Finished in the airport at Denver. Good story. "
— Linda, 11/30/2013" I read some her book and every book is enjoyable. "
— Hirosasazaki, 10/20/2013" The Sooner the Better was an easy, but enjoyable read. It was a bit predictable but did have some twists toward the end. It's a good book to read on a slow, lazy day when you just want to read something for quick entertainment. "
— Jan, 2/15/2013" This book was very different from what DM usually rights, but it was good and a little refreshing. "
— Christine, 11/11/2012" ehhh more of the same the best of the series of three but again not engaging at all, just not my type of book I much prefer the cedar cove series. "
— Michelle, 7/3/2012" Once again, Debbie Macomber did not let me down. Not like the other titles of hers I read, a little more adventure this time but once again she kept me entertained page after page till the end. Makes you ready for the next chapters in the characters life, not wanting the title to end. "
— Cindy, 11/26/2011" A great closer to the Deliverance Company Trilogy! "
— Sarah, 10/10/2011" This was not the usual Debbie Macomber novel. It was more an adventure story. Suspenseful and I enjoyed it very much. "
— Roscella, 9/7/2011" One of the best Macomber books yet! "
— Alice, 6/23/2011" This book I was really into mystery, love and murder. alot of action. "
— Monica, 2/15/2011" A little too romancing the stone. "
— Lori, 1/13/2011" This was a really great story. I found myself not being able to put it down. The connection between Jack and Lorraine was amazing. I loved the adventure, and the strong will of both. "
— Connie, 1/4/2011" Loved this book! Found it a difficult-to-put-down read. A little better than a four-star read for me. "
