On the other side of the world, Marilena Carpathia dreams of motherhood. Through genetic engineering, she is about to get her wish. "I read all of the Left Behind books and thought they were amazing ... this book now has filled in some of the parts that were missing. It is about the two men in the books ... Nicholae and Rayford. It is the story of their childhoods and how they came to be who they were. You have to have read the prior Left Behind books for this all to make sense. What a wonderful book!!!"

" This was actually, probably, my favorite book of the series, because it was just so EVIL. No real surprise there, considering how much I love horror and scary stuff in general. LOL. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's still totally horrible, but much more tolerable than some of the other books in the series. "

" This is a great book, but only if you have read the whole Left Behind series. This book gives you a perspective of Nicolai and Rayford's life before the rapture and what happen that made what they became to be in the Left Behind series, and although this book is really good, I don't think I would have read if I haven't read the series first. " A new series of Left Behind books, this is book 1 of 3 leading up to the rapture. It details the birth and early life of Nicolae, and of Rayford and Irene Steele's life. Give a background for characters in the original series. "

" This wasn't a comfortable read for me and I ended up stopping half way through. I was not thrilled to ponder how the anti-christs childhood would be like, nor was I that much interested in thinking about the enemy he is, and will be, to all mankind and God someday. I got bored real fast. "

" This is another series with the Left Behind series although it is only 3 books in this series. It focuses on the beginnings of Nicholae and his early years before he comes into the Left Behind (12 book series) I guess a pre-quel to the Left Behind although it was written afterwards. "

" It was very good till the last forty pages. The last forty pages just dragged. It wasn't even in story form, it was just telling you what happened. Two or three pages of that is fine, but forty! Still, I plan to read the rest in the series. I just hope they don't all end the same way. "
