Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny are on the air—and on the trail of a mystery, too! The children are helping out at a local station, where they are performing a play live on the radio, just like in the old days. But sometimes the radio station seems haunted: the lights keep going out in the studio and there are strange sounds—even screams!

Does the old radio station have a ghost? Can the Boxcar Children catch it before the listeners are scared away?

About the Author
Author Gertrude Chandler Warner

Gertrude Chandler Warner (1890–1979) is best remembered as the author of the Boxcar Children mysteries. As a child, she spent hours watching trains near her home and often dreamed about what it would be like to live in a caboose or freight car. In each story, she chose a special setting and introduced unpredictable, unusual, or eccentric characters to help highlight the Aldens’ independence and resourcefulness. She lived in Putnam, Connecticut, until her death in 1979.
