"I have read a lot of James Patterson novels, but this is my all time favorite. It was a fast read and kept me on the edge of my seat. It was not one of those books that you can figure out before the author reveals the twist. I found it intriguing and I liked the twist at the end. I will continue to look for Patterson books that are co-written with Michael Ledwidge."

“Actress Mary Stuart Masterson skillfully keeps the suspense moving, giving each character a distinct personality…Highly recommended…Patterson is sure to have a large and loyal following.”
— Library Journal (audio review)“Mary Stuart Masterson performs this psychological suspense with a voice that has just the right understated ‘everywoman’s’ quality. Masterson takes her audience along for the various cliff-hangers and plot twists and helps listeners empathize with the main character. Music cues throughout the production heighten the tension.”
— AudioFile“James Patterson’s The Quickie is a brisk read that will leave you breathless.”
— Barnes & Noble, editorial review“Action? Check. Suspense? By the carload. Romance? Yes. Erotica? Let’s just say that it’s not limited to the cover.”
— BookReporter.com" Although I like James Patterson's books I didn't enjoy it as much as his other books. Maybe I would like it better if I were a woman. "
— Herbert, 10/24/2018" First J patterson book I read & I was hooked! Title sounds kinky but its not its more of a good cop bad cop story murder mystery! "
— Darci, 2/14/2014" I've read a decent amount of James Patterson's books, and this was by far my favorite. It's non stop action from start to finish, and the ending will blow you away! "
— Liz, 2/12/2014" One of the worst James Patteron novels I ever read. Stupid characters who all made poor choices and none of them were likeable. A complete waste of time. "
— Sofina, 2/12/2014" Really liked this book. It was a quick read, but it did not disappoint. Had a lot of twists. "
— Misti, 2/3/2014" I actually listened to this audio book on a long road trip, it was okay, entertaining. My husband liked it! ;) "
— Julie, 1/28/2014" This book got me hooked right from the first page!! This was my first James Patterson book and now I'm HOOKED on his books... Anyway, I could not put this book down! With three kids at the time, I read it in a day! And I wasn't much of a reader then either. Now I can't stop reading!!! Love this book. I recommend it to everyone!! "
— Amanda, 1/20/2014" This is a quick read filled with suspense and plot twists. I liked this book because the chapters were short and I really didn't want to put it down. I recommend this book to anyone with a short attention span. "
— Alvin, 1/12/2014" This is my first and last James Patterson novel. I just don't like his writing style. Many of the chapters were only 2 pages long and it did not give me enough time to fall into the pages. I could not bring myself into the suspense and it's no wonder why it took me forever to finish this book. "
— Beth, 1/5/2014" I probably would give this a 1.5 if possible. I think I just don't care for Patterson's writing. It is generally insipid and I have to remember to pass on future options. "
— Kevin, 1/3/2014" Hmmm... I had a hard time getting into this story. Probably because there was not one sympathetic character to be found! The pace was not typical of James Patterson's novels either for me. It seemed slower. "
— Stephanie, 11/29/2013" Didn't care for this book at all. Good read maybe for a 9th grader, the writing was not that great...not sophisticated for my liking. "
— Jcg, 11/27/2013" Good book. I didn't expect the ending at all. Thanks for a quickie read james patterson! "
— Jeannette, 11/21/2013" This was incredibly easy to read, much like watching an hour-long tv drama. About the same amount of character development; and with several twists and turns. Not a bad way to spend part of a weekend if you don't mind somewhat predictable...predictable can be relaxing. "
— Loree, 11/7/2013" My first James Patterson book and I like his fast-paced writing style. "
— Rose, 11/2/2013" Read this book in 2 days. Couldn't put it down! Would give 4 & 1/2 stars if it would let me. "
— Andrea, 10/15/2013" Ah, more of less, a waste of time. I do like James Patterson due to his ability to keep things moving and keep those pages turning, but this one you felt like you could pretty much skip to the end to just get it over with. And, once you did get it over with, the ending was quite disappointing. "
— Amy, 8/17/2013" A real page-turner, "Quickie" is a quick read. "
— Shar, 6/9/2013" This was a real page turning very good "
— Kelly, 6/6/2013" This book was pretty cheesy I have to say. I received this book for free, now I know why. "
— Jennifer, 5/6/2013" A quick easy read with lots of twists and turns...great entertainment. "
— Monica, 3/19/2013" Since it was an audio book, I kept falling asleep while listening and I have no idea how much I actually missed. The overall story was so-so and not very believable. "
— Katie, 2/7/2013" Good story, but I don't like or condone what the lady cop did. "
— Melissa, 9/25/2012" The book opened up with a clear case murder, the rest of the book peels the onion back exposing the elements behind the murder. "
— Jerome, 1/16/2012" loved the twists and turns even though its so close to impossible but a fun ride nevertheless "
— Katherine, 11/29/2011" Very fast read and couldn't put it down. When you think you know the end something else happens. "
— Christinakoukos, 11/27/2011" Very good. I was hooked from the very beginning of the story. "
— Susan, 11/19/2011" I don't like stories whose prenis is based on out of character stupidity and actions which is how I felt about this book from the beginning. Good twists and turns throughout, but ut really could have been set up in a more convincing way. "
— David, 10/5/2011" Quick read.... Never quite sure what is going on till the end, so that was fun "
— Judi, 10/1/2011" One of my favourite James Patterson books "
— Kimberly, 8/28/2011" A very fast-paced interesting book. "
— Lana, 5/28/2011" It is a fun audio to listen to while running, walking or doing house work. "
— Jayne, 5/21/2011" Couldn't quite figure out if this story was supposed to be fiction or fantasy. Nobody could possibly make this many mistakes and have them all fixed or overlooked! But it was a quick easy read. "
— Nana, 5/17/2011" This book was a nail biter and makes you really feel for the characters when it comes to right and wrong. In the end, it works out but the book balances on a thin line between right and wrong. Overall I enjoyed it even though I disagreed with what the character(s) did. "
— Amira, 5/14/2011" Great book! James Patterson always delivers! "
— Lora, 5/9/2011" A great summer read. Grab a copy and beach chair! "
— Catherine, 5/8/2011" This book is full of twists and surprises till the end. Very good, but not for school aged kids, definitely for adults! "
— Ann, 5/8/2011" I really enjoyed this book-devoured it in one day. The story was different and well told at a tight and gripping pace. I couldn't believe who the bad guy was at the end- what a jumper. "
— Dee, 5/6/2011" A female detective has an affair and her husband kills the man. Lauren spends all her time trying to defend him while all along he is plotting against her. I thought the book was suspensful and kept me reading. "
— Kris, 5/5/2011" It wasn't the worst or the best, but it kept me interested and there were a couple of good twists. "
— Kriscrowe, 4/21/2011" Great book. So many twists and turns. "
— Carmen, 4/18/2011" I wanted to read a little before going to sleep last night. Not a good idea to start this book as I had to finish it. Not as gruesome as some of Patterson's book. Some humor present. A very different murder mystery. "
