"I'm almost done with this book and actually quite enjoying it. Dr. Laura definitely has strong opinions about men and women roles but I don't think she's too far off. A lot of the book includes samples of phone calls she's recieved but if you allow yourself to resonate with them it can be quite good and help keep you focused on the thing that matters most in life - family."

“[Schlessinger] expounds on the different ways that men and women communicate and how modern feminism has undermined men’s and women’s images of marriage and the sex roles within marriage. She offers love alerts and do’s and don’ts to maintain healthy marriages. Schlessinger’s fans will love this book.”
— Booklist“Dr. Laura combines concrete, no-nonsense advice with her trademark wit to reinforce the bedrock strategies for a loving marriage.”
— Newsmax" Once again Dr. Laura has given truthful and stinging advice. This book, along with Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands should honestly be read and reread often. It is good to be reminded and be kept in check. "

— Rachel, 2/8/2014" I only listened to part of this book on cd. I did enjoy it and I think she gave really great tips. I really liked her other book "The Proper Care & Feeding of Husbands" better. But I thought this was interesting as well. Great for those looking for marriage helps. "
— Jessie, 1/31/2014" I am not a huge Dr. Laura fan. Kevin listens to her show so we read the book together. Perhaps we don't fit the norm, but the things she mentioned for guys, I was like and the things she mentioned for girls Kevin fit. I felt like there were a few things that hit it right but nothing I would recommend the book to other people for. "
