Publisher Description

With over one million copies sold, this series of modern classics about the charming Penderwick family from National Book Award winner and New York Times bestseller Jeanne Birdsall is perfect for fans of Noel Streatfeild and Edward Eager.

The Penderwick sisters are home on Gardam Street and ready for an adventure! But the adventure they get isn’t quite what they had in mind. Mr. Penderwick’s sister has decided it’s time for him to start dating—and the girls know that can only mean one thing: disaster. Enter the Save-Daddy Plan—a plot so brilliant, so bold, so funny, that only the Penderwick girls could have come up with it. It’s high jinks, big laughs, and loads of family warmth as the Penderwicks triumphantly return.

"I loved this book, a sequel to The Penderwicks. The Penderwick daughters face the fact that their widowed father is starting to date again (not because he wants to but because their aunt is forcing him to because of a request from his late wife). The girls come up with a plot to save their father and themselves from the possibility of having an evil stepmother. Each of the girls has a wonderful personality and they have many different adventures together and a part. Some of the plot is predictable but the characters and the writing more than make up for it."

" The 4 Penderwick sisters are appalled to find that their widowed father is starting to date again. They must put a stop to it! Of course, there are many troublesome situations that they get themselves into, but as it must in a children's story of this type, things always work themselves out in the end. "
